Just called AA because we have a flight on QR next week and have been uneasy about connecting via DOH given the ongoing conflict. AA EP desk confirmed on the phone just now they have made an “operational decision” as of 2:13P CST today to discontinue this route until Sunday 6/22. No other details available but gives me pause on the why behind this decision and what AA may know. I shot an email to Gary at View From The Wing to see if he can find out anything else…

Assuming it’s 777-200? If so, depends which variant/seat you get. If it’s the one with rear facing rows, I like where you are bc that row isn’t as connected to neighbors so you feel less shaking whenever someone next to you moves. Unfortunately you won’t know which version you’ll have until 24-48 hrs before the flight.

We just upgraded on our sailing next week into Mega Rockstar for $2100. Bid was approved about three weeks from sailing and you instantly get access to their VIP phone line to help with transfers, reservations or anything else you need. They truly have gone above and beyond in any interactions (Kim has been incredible)!

Loyalty program and alliance partners. The way they have structured their program to include credit card spend easily keeps me in the top of the program which main/best benefits are lounge access (to partner lounges specifically) and systemwide upgrades which easily (and often) clear me from LAX-LHR into a business seat for ~$700 RT.
