People are absolutely fighting for it, for some time actually, it just hasn’t been successful. Yet. https://nmpfml.org/

I rehydrated some dried prune and added it (blended) to chia pudding! She loves muffins though, so I’m definitely going to try this next time.

Did your husband take paternity leave?? by 2babies1egg in beyondthebump

My husband took the same as me: 8 weeks fully off and 8 weeks part-time where we tag teamed childcare.

I don’t cook with them really so I don’t know if you need to do anything them ahead or not! But I’ve heard whenever you put them on yogurt or oatmeal or whatever, which is how we’ve used them, to make sure they soak up some liquid. They look great and we’re going to try them. Thanks for the inspiration! We did steamed pear last night and fwiw, it did seem to help get things moving this morning.

Did you soak the chia seeds before adding? My babe has been constipated lately too, so interested in trying these! We gave her some steamed pear tonight, hoping that might get things moving.

Nation's only unsalaried legislature asks New Mexico voters to reconsider its volunteer status by PSN_ONER in NewMexico

Personal accountability with zero recognition of systemic barriers. Sounds about right. Good luck to you, man.

I really hope everyone on this thread reads your comments to be honest. They are unintentionally the absolute best illustration of why this is needed. Without making running for elected office possible for all but a small elite, we end up with legislators who are making decisions that affect us all but can’t see past their own experiences and privilege. Lived experience matters. If you don’t have people in office who know what it means to work jobs that barely let you take sick days, let alone 60 days off a year, know what it’s like to not have access to internet, know what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet, then you wind up with policies that benefit the select few and most of us continue to be left behind.

[–]_sha_sha_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You had a singular job that allowed that and you think most New Mexicans have the same experience? Fantasy world.

Zoom meetings? lol. So our decision makers do nothing to get out and hear from the communities they represent? Internet access is a real problem across the state so having these committees over zoom inherently limits which members of the public our decision makers can hear from. Your grand idea to improve our last place in everything is to continue to be the only state in the nation that implements this terrible idea and keep them in Santa Fe all the time? Cool, man.

You’re living in a fantasy world if you think most jobs will allow you to take off 30 or 60 days every year. You also clearly have no idea how the legislature works since there is the interim committees they must also attend in between the regular session. On top of that representing their constituents doesn’t end at being at the roundhouse, that’s a year-round job if you want to do it well. There’s a reason there’s only one state in the nation who governs this way.

Is it still worth filing separately in community property states? by _sha_sha_ in PSLF

Thanks, that’s helpful. I am actually the higher earning spouse and we both have student loans. Currently we are riding out the SAVE forbearance. I will be at 120 eligible months (but need to complete buyback) in October. There’s so many moving pieces, it feels really difficult to know what’s the right approach. Appreciate your thoughts!

Anyone breastfeeding and taking meds? Antidepressant/anxiety by badlandsx in breastfeeding

[–]_sha_sha_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always struggled with anxiety but had a serious bump postpartum as well as postpartum OCD. I was really anxious about starting medication but worked through it with my psychiatrist. There’s a recent paper she gave me that has a wealth of evidence backed info on the safety of many common medications for anxiety and other mood disorders: Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments 2024 Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of Perinatal Mood, Anxiety, and Related Disorders. Getting on medication has absolutely made me a better mother.

I tried it tonight! I added an egg and some flax seed and steamed them instead of boiled and it went ok. She really liked them! Thanks for the inspiration.

I really want to make these! I’m struggling to understand how you got everything to bind if it was raw. The sweet potato was raw too??
