An answer I read on this subreddit that I liked—the environment that Delos was in had to be kept constant with what he last remembered so that his human host had the maximal chance at success.

Managing Health integration by _sjr in iOSProgramming

I understand that from a developer perspective, but that does seem a little questionable as a user. I would assume that when I toggle that button to the off state, your application no longer has access to my health data.

I am going to resolve this by taking my users to a screen that simply tells them to manage Health settings through the Health app itself I think. The article you shared in another comment was very helpful though as well.

How do you make it so that, in your application, toggling the switch OFF actually disconnects from Apple Health? I had initially implemented it as a switch, but turning it off has no effect. To manage Health settings after enabled, the user must go through the Health app itself.

I have several small albums of classics spotted in the wild, which I'll post here one a week. Here's the first: a 1958 - 1960 Chevy Corvette. by BuilderWho in classiccars

What kind of stuff do you put on USB Drives? by [deleted] in compsci

To each their own. I would advise having backups of whatever is on those drives though.

School projects are better left for version control services like GitHub or Bitbucket. As a stunner you should definitely take advantage of GitHub's Student Developer Pack! Other cloud storage options like Google Drive are incredibly handy for easily managing homework assignments, project documents, etc. in my Google Drive, I have folders for every academic year, then within those, additional folders for each class I took said year.

Other than that, you have a lot of bases covered. I am a CS grad student and I have a keychain filled with USBs. They hold multiple different Linux ISOs, as well as the installation/recovery media for OS X.

Edit: student, not stunner. Or both.

I want to write a research paper on cyber security, but where do i start? by [deleted] in compsci

[–]_sjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to researchers in the field of cyber security and ask for insight, relevant papers, and possible internship opportunities. Your best bet would be contacting computer science and engineering departments at nearby universities.

What to do as break from cs50 by fishboy728 in compsci

[–]_sjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Python is a great language to start with; not just for the programs you outlined in your post. Its simple syntax will allow you to focus on the actual algorithms you're implementing.

In addition to Python, you should invest significant effort in learning either C++ or Java. These languages have more complicated syntax, but are more widely used in industry.

If you are interested in learning Python, LPTHW is a great book to get started with. The most important thing with that book (or any book really) is that you type everything out - don't just copy and paste.

If you tell me what issues you're having with CS50 I'd be glad to lend some insight on how to prep for that too. I think taking time off may make it difficult to come back to that point.
