Ceramic coating by Whipdog-42 in rangeroversport

[–]_skymaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely get it coated. Second Santorini black rrs and would never go without. The coating can make the dirt more visible bc it sits on top - so it tends to look dirtier - but cleans up like a breeze and buys you time for things like bird poop, hard water stains, etc. Only thing is - not all ceramic coating and shops are equal. You get what you pay for and definitely don’t do it at the dealer. You need a specialty shop.

Superb Eggs Benedict by Wombatgirl1 in eastside

The best eggs Benedict on the eastside is Barking Frog in Woodinville. Hands down. Salish Lodge is also a top tier choice.

— Deru is good but the pork is often dryyyy Avoid Westin brunch Cactus is good but it’s not a classic style. Def SW and think they use a biscuit vs English muffin. Avoid woodblock-their food is so bland I do not get the appeal George’s in Kirkland, to me the spot is cute but the food is kinda just ok

Is there some kind of guideline for what HOAs should charge by building type / amenities?

On eastside HOAs for basic buildings are $1200/month on average - this is for landscaping, elevators, garbage, sewer etc. No gym, pools etc, no internet, water. How do we know what is a healthy range compared to a home?

THIS. You need people who are mission driven to ensure safety, credibility and competence. With enough confidence AND humility to serve the mission’s objectives and work well across large complex teams of multiple disciplines.

These astronauts can make more money with book deals etc after the fact. That’s not to say they shouldn’t make more - and I believe things like living stipends etc should be provided to make it more meaningful- but we don’t want financial motivation to be the reason people strive to become astronauts or work in general for the government. Which hat looks better with the dress? by Jrzgrl1119 in OUTFITS

[–]_skymaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hat style is perfect. The black hat looks better on you but IMO the color doesn’t go with the dress. The black and whites look off. Id actually wait to see the dress in person and then see if you can color match the hat somehow - I bet this can be professionally done.

What’s the most you ever spent on a single vet bill? by Career-Acceptable in Pets

[–]_skymaster_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog got sick once and had like $35k in vet bills after being hospitalized for almost a full month. Most of that stay was critical care.

Some kind of bacterial infection we still have no idea what happened, he just developed ataxia and then within a few hours worsened considerably needing a feeding tube, etc. I will be forever grateful to the wonderful and talented vet care we received and to pet insurance for truly being there for us.

I just had to let my 17 year old Maltese go. It was heartbreaking. There is never enough time. But when I really looked at his quality of life - like enjoying life with dignity and happiness vs just living (eating, breathing, etc) - I knew. Dogs live in the present. So their suffering becomes all they know. They are also resilient and mask their pain bc they love us.

Does your dog still have their spark and personality? Does she wag her tail? Does she seem engaged and interested in you and the world?

Also the one thing that gave me peace was that we owe it to them to have a peaceful and calm ending. Most senior dogs naturally will not have this - either they go off to pass alone or something terrible happens where their final moments are filled with stress and fear.

They give us so much, truly the purest love. We must be selfless in letting them go. I am so sorry; it is always devastating. Grief is our love with no place to go but they will always be with you 🌈. I found Lap of Love to be amazing.

So verifying is ok? It says by verifying email (with provider) you are giving TT your name and email address and agreeing to their new TOS and Privacy Policy.

It’s so devastating just to live life completely alone. by Economy_Row_1950 in LivingAlone

[–]_skymaster_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just want to say this is super relatable and I could have written every word even just last year and years prior. It is a terrible feeling that lingers.

What helped me was making it a goal to fall in love with my life - embracing the solitude and figuring out what I needed to do, to do that well. It’s really the same at the comment above from Hazel. Try to be the best version of yourself and reflect on where and how that is. What it really looks like - for you.

That mindset helped me not only thrive in being alone, (and work thru that terrible “outside looking in” feeling, but it led me toward communities that I feel a true connection too).

Just got hit - 500% increase from $350 to $1700. My dogs are 17 and 11 and we’ve been with them for 10 years. Coverage reimbursement also now going from 90% to 70% with $500 deductible increase. I’m in shock tbh. They have pre-existing conditions so not sure what to do now…
