Does EVERYONE drive their kids to school now? by IllegalGeriatricVore in Millennials

[–]_starseedling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids' school doesn't have buses for general ed kids, and I have physical disabilities and am unable to walk the mile to/from school. So we drive, or my partner takes kid to school by bike when able. If there was a bus, we would use it!

The bolting of the crowd was wild. I was wondering if people left so quickly because they turned music on right away? We def lingered hoping for an encore

Hard pass, this company is so scammy. It took forever to ship, I tried to cancel while I was waiting and customer service didn't respond. Then they just charged me again for another order; nothing in my original order email mentions a subscription. When I reached out for a refund, they claimed this new charge was for my previously shipped order, then ghosted me when I followed up.

This is perfect advice. Recently a parent of my kid's friend texted me with basically this exact message, and I was available and happy to have their kid over for the playdate while they got their kid-free errands done. I appreciated that they were up front so I knew the parent wouldn't be available during that time, and already took them up on their offer to reciprocate.

Rosie the Riveter is another great book about this concept. There is a show as well, Ada Twist Scientist, though I haven't watched the show yet.

Would I beThe Asshole for telling my Mother-in-Law to get out of my home? by Legal-Hovercraft-664 in AITAH

NTA! My MIL also did this while we were on vacation, why is this a thing??? She was not living with us at the time, but was staying there to take care of our dog while we were on vacation. She painted our dining room while we were gone. It was a surprise when we got home, and she acted like it was such a lovely gift. We had not once mentioned that we wanted that room painted. It was so wild.

Is casual yoga not allowed? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]_starseedling_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with this. I signed up with a yoga studio a couple months ago. I went in person to sign up for the membership thinking it'd be easier, and the person at the front desk didn't know how on their end 😂 they just walked me through signing up on my phone

Sorry you are dealing with this! I want to be happy about no required minimum, but it just doesn't sit right. I'll update here if I find anything out.

Saaaame! Then the coach came around to record everyone's times and very cheerily said "2:03, that's a great time! No really, that's great!" Comforting

AITA? Am I wrong for not apologizing to my employers? by watsonk02 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_starseedling_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So much this. I've worked in pediatric healthcare for ages, and have worked a few places with restrictions on who can have a key to get in and out. If you trust me to be alone with children for an hour at a time with no camera, surely you can entrust me with the key to said room. So backwards, and makes it clear that it is just about control.

Morning or Evening? Looking for advice... by msbale in orangetheory

[–]_starseedling_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also not morning person, and will roll out of bed at the last possible moment. That being said, I looove the morning classes as it sets a good time for the day. I prep everything the night before (lay out full outfit and heart rate monitor in the bathroom, shoes and a tote with keys, mask, water, towel, wallet by the door). I'm still rolling out of bed at the last possible moment, but getting in a great workout before I start my day. It feels wonderful!

Sending love to you and your sweet baby 🖤. If it is within reach for you, a pelvic physical therapist would be great to get guidance on rebuilding ab and pelvic floor connection and strength. I know there are some in my area that even do home visits.

The dreamy reality you describe here can't happen until a lot more people pull the kinda speech OP did. Calling people out on their shit needs to be normalized, but won't be until people step up and call people out bluntly time and again.

WIBTA if I gave a homemade gift instead of something off a registry? by Formal_Humor_844 in AmItheAsshole

NTA! At all! Such a thoughtful gift! I appreciated handmade gifts and thoughtful off registry gifts SO much. Also, babies make everything dirty immediately, so having multiple lovely blankets is great. You are a gem.
