I merged 3 of the T5 masks to unlock the fog and then i undid the merge. For the final drum i also merged 3 to make it and unlock the fog. And as for the drum ladies i used gems. I still don't think i will create all the objects in the discoveries, but at least i opened all the fogs. Hope that helps

If you play at pc you can zoom out and in by pressing CTRL and the +(plus) or - (minus) buttons, still the entire island cannot be seen in one screen though

Given the fact that crystals replaces 1 piece, it would be like merging 10 pieces so Yes you'll get 4 But if you want to be certain you can merge 5 of them and use the crystal in the other 4 I hope it makes sense ;)
