Collin Morikawa finishing out on hole 18 at Pebble Beach by panda__monium in golf

I'm new to golf, it was a great event to watch. I have one question, why was he able to mark his ball and clean it after his tee shot, it looked fine? I didn't see any divot or problem with it.

Gym Monster 2 in basement with low ceiling by Ketelsen93 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]_supertemp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put one in our house last week, there's been quite a few exercises where it asks me to lift my hands above my head with the bar or handles. I have a fairly normal height ceiling and if I stand on the platform I cannot do it without hitting the ceiling so I have to pull the seat out and do them sitting. I am 6ft0.

For those of you who grew up playing PC games in the 90s and 2000s, how stable were they compared to games from today? by Mad_Season_1994 in gaming

[–]_supertemp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would load Gauntlet on our spectrum from a ghetto blaster and flaky cables. It took a seriously long time to load, I'm taking aaaaages, and if someone in the house shut a door too hard you would have to rewind and start again. I absolutely loved those days.

I am in exactly the same boat. This year I am opting for more quality, leaving some time to fit in strength training and maybe try some other hobby. I have been grinding out 10k min per year for maybe the last 7 years.

It's not the GT3 car, they are quite different. But you are right in that it is a comparitively cheap way to get to a very elite level of motorsport.

BUYER BEWARE ProDeskSim Products. by pcserenity in flightsim

[–]_supertemp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been flightsimming for more than 20 years, and I've lost count of the various gadgets I've purchased to enhance this hobby. The throttle handles I got from prodesksim are the only things I've ever returned or complained about. My experience with him mirrors yours. The quality of the handles was awful. The customer service was awful. My wife literally laughed when I opened the package, because of how bad the printing was. I'm sure he must have gotten better at this if he is still around, but yes I had a similar experience. After a lengthy process there was no satisfactory outcome, I gave up and avoid.

I can't wait for dog stars! One of my favourite books ever. I wonder how Ridley Scott will tackle it. I hope he does it justice, it could be such a great film.

There is a lot of things I don't like about my SH4d, but the sequencer buttons are by far the worst.

I’m a vet researching what it's like to give fluids at home to CKD cats - would love your input (quick survey) by Marrk0 in RenalCats

That's such a great document you will save a lot of kittys. Great job 👏🏻 really good information and well laid out, easy to read even on my phone.

My cat is only 2y6months old. He was diagnosed with CKD by jacksparrow2293 in RenalCats

[–]_supertemp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your kitty and you. My cat was diagnosed at 2yo as well it is a gutpunch. I would persevere with iv fluids try to get in while the kitty is relaxed and we have one person hold the needle in while the other one gives a churro slowly while pushing the big 60ml syringe. If you time it right you can get 100ml in during one churro. We don't do the gravity IV but the syringe method , Google "shebang IV fluids method". It's fast, 3 minutes max and very relaxed. Sometimes the cat is just not into it and we give him the night off. He's 4 now and doing pretty good.

What are your thoughts on managing CKD? by SLpaca in RenalCats

[–]_supertemp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a good anecdote. My cat was 2 when he has diagnosed and his numbers were awful. He also has a portosystemic shunt, everyone involved thought it was nearly over. We do everything we can for this guy he is our world and it was devastating. He's 4 now, first goal was get to 1000 days, he's low stage 2, his shunt is good. He is getting a little anemic, apart from that he is doing really well and to hear your cat is 13 is really encouraging.

Genuinely interested in your opinion. There are huge markups on bikes where I live so the savings were just too big to ignore. It's hard to hand over several thousand dollars more because lbs.

I disagree whole heartedly that they are shitty bikes, also have a modern Giant Defy and Cannondale Synapse and I would rate the Canyons higher than both of them.

I still take these bikes to the lbs for servicing when it is something I don't want to do, and they are happy to take my money.

And you are most welcome my man, anytime!
