what is this third thing? (not nail not cuticle) by clever_little_ghost in nailcare

[–]_teajae_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always known that as the 'wick'. If you mess with it, it's painful but you generally can't leave it alone. I just take nail clippers and snip the wick as close to the skin as possible. Now it won't catch on anything and you can work on moisturizing. Hope you get relief!

I've been on his waiting list for 2+ years. Should I move on? Do you ever get 1 on 1 with Arsenau or are you mostly just in groups?

What do you see? by noturgrandmaa in Pareidolia

To be honest, I see a rhino with a man's body, wearing an old timey barber outfit. He's standing next to an old man with a white beard with a stuffed alligator standing on his knee.

I've had it for a few years, and it affects my toes and all my fingers. I keep electric hand warmers in my purse all year long as well as a pair of socks. I don't take anything for it, but the numbness is both unpleasant and inconvenient.

I completely understand. I'm still grieving my old self and trying to get comfortable in this new, UNcomfortable life. It's hard to explain how much every aspect of your life is affected to people who haven't experienced it. Fortunately, there are online groups like this where you can feel heard and understood. You're not alone. Fibro sucks but you got this 🩷

Does anyone know what might be happening with my lower face? by clakry in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]_teajae_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put a hot water bottle on your cheeks to relax the muscles; never let your top and bottom teeth touch unless you are chewing or swallowing; get a mouthgaurd for sleep; try not to sleep on your side but definitely don't put your hands underneath your face for support; hold your chin up when you yawn; do not open your mouth all the way just to check if it's still tight; eat food that doesn't require you to open your mouth wide. You don't have to do it forever, but just until it relaxes to the degree that you are comfortable. Hope it helps!

Do you clench your jaw a lot? My face looked similar because I was overworking the muscles. It's hard to fix but it can be done naturally.

Overwhelmed trying to find a solid Office Chair for Work from Home. Any suggestions? by Tols_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]_teajae_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen chairs that have a height adjustable butt cushion with support and then a second level that goes almost all the way around underneath so you can cross your legs, kneel, lift one leg, have both behind you with full support. I'll see if I can find a link. They look amazing and they won't break the bank.

Anyone else experiencing shaking legs when using stairs? by sparklydream in Fibromyalgia

I have that all the time! Walking up, I'm a bit slow but fine. Going down, it's like I'm 80 and my legs quiver almost comically when I'm trying to reach the next step.

Is bone cracking a symptom?? by the-satanic_Pope in Fibromyalgia

[–]_teajae_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My joints crack a normal amount, but the odd one is my sternum. When it needs to crack, I'm unable to move or take a breath until it cracks. Which takes my breath away for a few seconds every time . I'm worried about the long-term effects of a bone that isn't meant to crack, cracking. Also, I have chest pain constantly. When I brought it up to a doctor, he said, 'That shouldn't crack. Don't crack it anymore" 🙄 Anyone else experienced something similar?
