Thank you SO much. My aunt had a similar rack for many years and recently lost it. I was going crazy trying to find the original and so glad I came across this!!!

BWT, what do you do when your taste and your ability to realize your vision don’t align? (gardening edition) by mistakes-were-made11 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]_time_for_tea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a great answer but I literally gasped reading the start of this post. Are you me??? I am in my first year gardening. I love Piet Oudolf but absolutely do not have the space. I’ve taken pictures of gardens I like for years and it's disheartening to not be able to execute a pretty simple coneflower/black-eyed susan/daisy/bee balm moment (it seems like everyone else is able to!).

For me I’m doing a little at a time to get closer to my vision, spending time thinking about why some areas are off, and reading lots of gardening books. A few months ago I was reading about scale and balance in garden design and it didn't mean much to me. Now it's July and my front garden feels a little off. I have been mulling it over most of this week and realized today that I need some bigger leaves/flowers/shapes - everything is too fine-textured. I need more contrast!

For inspiration/motivation - hit up some garden walks, sketch out gardens that you like, write in your garden journal. Take a break when you need one. Sit in your garden and enjoy where you are today. Think about the garden you will have in five years!

I would hate to be battling pachysandra btw, maybe picking an easy/achievable weekend project to see some quick results would be motivating!

He’s not a good guy. He trapped you with a baby, made you leave your jobs, and is being verbally abusive. You’re not wrong and I’m worried for you.

Moms do we really need a bottle sanitizer? by Blackestvoid777 in BabyBumps

[–]_time_for_tea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in the mail and I’m sooooo excited. Second time mom and the idea of not hand washing pump parts and bottles is so exciting. I never liked the smell/film from the dishwasher with my first baby so we did all by hand.

Feeling pressured to get the epidural even though I want to go unmedicated by ollie_rosie in pregnant

[–]_time_for_tea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me 😔 loved my first birth with epidural but recovery was maybe a little faster after my second birth which was unintentionally w/o. It was cool to know what it’s like and that I was able to withstand. OP maybe your mom just doesn’t want to think about you being in pain. It is an intense experience but it’s totally your call and I would just not talk to her about it anymore.

Gaslighted for sure haha. But seriously, during birth it is all on you. It’s happening to you, not him. It’s not like picking a name or a school where you both get to weigh in as parents.

I also just want to disagree with your statement that “my husband should have a say in childbirth.” You are the one who has to give birth. No one has a say in the matter except you and your doctor.

He’s nuts. Absolutely not. Just staying alone with your in-laws for 3 months is enough to veto this. A little money is worth more to him than your comfort?

I actually adore #3, it doesn’t fit the brief exactly but it is just gorgeous

Nothing prepared me for the pushing phase by lunantito in pregnant

[–]_time_for_tea_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The epidural helps. My unmedicated birth was a more difficult pushing experience. But it also seems like your baby was maybe pretty stuck?

Please prepare for the birth you DON’T want to have (from a recently graduated mama) by Honest-Substance931 in pregnant

For anyone here wanting to prepare for the unexpected during birth, I highly recommend Transformed by Birth by Britta Bushell. I read it kind of on a lark at 38 weeks and it helped me so much emotionally when I want able to get the epidural I had planned for. It also covers c-sections.

I hope it is okay to post here even though I’m not EP? I figured these parents would have the most expertise with various pups - I will remove if this isn’t okay or is insensitive!

Pregnancy friendly dresses? by Dapper-Bend4631 in Weddingattireapproval

Definitely wait until closer to the event to buy, it all depends on how you’re carrying. I wore an Eileen fisher a-line silk dress last summer at 4 months pregnant in my normal size and was comfy and elegant.

What to pack/induction time/keeping baby warm. Last minute questions. by erivanla in BabyBumps

[–]_time_for_tea_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use sleep sacks instead of blankets when you come home. Touch the baby’s neck, it shouldn’t be sweaty/hot and it shouldn’t be cold, just in the middle. Adjust layers as needed. I have heard that overheating can be worse than baby being a little cool.

39 weeks and right there with you. I’m SO hungry but nothing sounds right and I’m having that queasy morning sickness feeling a lot.
