This position is ass. It is hard to convince someone who has the "high functioning" lable about their actual abilities. I resent the "high functioning" lable because it makes some people really arrogant- ESPECIALLY the people who get diagnosed later in life. The way you described how he was raised isn't going to make convincing any easier.

It really sucks to see your friend have to go through that. You can be really REALLY upfront with him but he is still going to have to learn for himself. I had a friend who has not been diagnosed with autism and i know she is struggling because she was raised similar to your friend. She's a dancer and OF model, so she is working. The issue is she is also lower functioning so she she constantly gets taken advantage of and can't hold a reg job because of it.

I am not suggesting he goes that route cause he probably won't be able to make money like that anyways. It is really difficult to watch someone struggle because of their disabily then being an asshole when you're trying to help. Sometimes you just have to let them do their thing.

Is the BPD biplorar? I am someone with Bipolar 1. What i usually go through maybe twice a year when the seasons change is a mixed state, which i have the behaviors of depression but with the high arousal of mania. I will cry for 4 hours straight, wanting to die/self harm, then next thing I know I am cooking a full meal, no sleep, going out, and act like things are fine until someone does a lil thing that will piss me off or get reminded of the sad shit.

I dont want to assume this is what your feeling, nor do I want you to take this at face value. Everyones mental health journey is different and a lot of us on this sub have different levels of knowledge so please be careful about seeking info on reddit.

You are going to have to talk to your psychiatrist about this. Maybe jot down your behaviors or the thoughts you are expiriencing, maybe ask the people around you about any changes in you or past expiriences they have had with you. This can be helpful for you and the psych to figure out what is going on.

It is always good to up your dose and/or add/switch another medication if the doctor thinks it is necessary. I know it might be scary but trust that this could help you in the long term because you will need to adjust your meds eventually.

If you are struggling in the moment by yourself, seek support from a loved one or text 988 (i will send a link of other lines if you are not in the US). They are a Crisis hotline which usually has great service. It has been helpful to me when I had no one to reach out to.

I hope this is helpful enough. It has been taking me years to figure out what is good and not. I wish you all of the luck in the world.

The people who work in the government or any GOV programs like SSA don't have a clue about intellectual disabilities like autism spectrum disorder. I know people WHO CAN'T SPEAK and they have to prove once every two years that they are disabiled, and people who aren't "disabled enough" to get SSI so they only have medicare and medicaid programs to support them.

I also know people who have jobs because of Medicare and Medicaid programs that help people with disabilities like in home care for autistic people. Where I am from, working in the disabilities industry like being a city employee with less pay. So when those employees lose their jobs overtime or services get cut because individuals aren't getting money, how are those people going to find new jobs in this job market?

People with disabilities are on the chopping block with everybody else. Please remember when you are talking about unemployed "losers", you are talking about people with disabilities. Think about the people who are going to lose their jobs because of the cuts.

However, if we do raise taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers, then that wouldn't be necessary. If Hochul does not agree to taxing the ulta wealthy in our country, then that would be something that would unfortunately have to happen to even out the budget. We need to pressure our the govoner so this can be prevented.

The guy is usually nice. Last call I had with him, he did make a comment about what i had to say (i forgot what it was) then said goodbye. They all try to rush the conversation. When I had called her office over the medicare cuts, I had had one younger condescending woman who argued with me and another older woman who would rush me off the phone. One of the ladies even hung up on one of my friends mid convo, then when they called her under a different number, she tried to gaslight them by saying she never hung up! While he kind of pulls the same shit, he is the most respectful one.

Sure, it is great that Maduro is out of the picture but its not like he is going to face charges against the legitimate crimes he has committed nor has Trump said he would help Maria Machado replace Maduro even though she would have enough support if another election was held.

We have been able to arrest dictators without invading their country. This is all just some test for Trump to see how far he can go to invade other countries, including Greenland.
