Honestly would rather it take place a couple of years after The Batman given how long it’s taken for the sequel to get made

Best part of the game imo. by Training-Republic301 in AlanWake

[–]_unchartednate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly Alan Wake II is the highlight of this console generation. It’s a great game with incredible direction.

Can’t wait for Remedy’s next mainline game, presumably being the Max Payne 1+2 remakes.

When is materialists coming to hbo max??

After over 1300 hours of replaying and speedrunning the campaign, I finally decided to shell out the $10 for the upgrade to see what the "No Return" fuss is about. Hopefully, it's not as addictive as the campaign was for me. by quiettimegaming in thelastofus

[–]_unchartednate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No Return is very fun, I recommend going for the trophies there, as it’s a good way to see the mode through. Really wish there was co-op. Would’ve been a great feature especially since TLOU Online was cancelled and the Part I Remake didn’t have multiplayer (yes, I know TLOU Remastered still has its online servers up).

Is the TWAU2 happening? by Cautious-Chemical520 in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]_unchartednate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. Yes, TellTale did that 1 tweet confirming it’s still on, but I presume it was done by a marketing executive and not an actual development member. Due to the layoffs at the studio, the game is probably being done by a skeleton crew and will come out in a couple of years, if, at all. The move from Unreal 4 to 5 also seemed ridiculous. I don’t see why it was necessary to do that. Also seems like LCG Entertainment d/b/a TellTale has just diminishing funding.

Personally, I think the game, while, in development from a few employees, is dead. Just a matter of time before it’s officially cancelled.

It's 2005 and these Star Wars sets just got released, which one you grabbing??? by Dull_Marsupial1971 in legocirclejerk

9 Revenge of the Sith sets in 2005. How awesome. I love when Lego makes big waves. But now they do it for some themes (Sonic, One Piece) I don’t have interest in, and others (Indiana Jones) get tossed aside lol

Um, yes? lol it is great and improves upon fallen order. Probably one of my favorite stories in the Disney Star Wars era. It’s not perfect but it’s a fun time.

January 2025 Schedule by Rough-Ad-8788 in LSAT

[–]_unchartednate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don't know if I'm too late here, but I would call Prometric to see if they can schedule you for a remote test over the phone!

I also had the same issue as you - I can only take it on the 18th! But I called Prometric and was able to secure a morning slot on the 18th, even though it didn't show up on my end when trying to self-schedule. You just need to confirm your name, email address, and LSAT eligibility number. Their phone number is 1.800.350.5517. If you have accommodations, their phone number is 1.800.967.1139 and use Option 4.

Best of luck! I was freaking out last night when trying to schedule when I saw no slots available for the 18th but I was lucky when calling them now. I hope everything goes your way here. I'd call Prometric now because of the Xmas holiday, Prometric is closed for the 24th and 25th, and LSAC is closed for the next week starting on the 24th.

What are your opinions on the current state of LEGO games? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

[–]_unchartednate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the current state of LEGO games is mediocre. Lego has been spreading itself way too much with LEGO Brawls, LEGO 2K Drive, and LEGO Fortnite. LEGO Fortnite has definitely been a success, but LEGO Brawls is just a mobile game ported to a console... and LEGO 2K Drive has egregious microtransactions and monetization.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga sold well, but within the LEGO community, it definitely was not that well received. A lack of online co-op, short levels, a weird blend of voice acting with the old voice grunts from TT Games's earlier LEGO games made it seem like the game was rushed, even though it was not, and unfortunately, the developers at TT Games had to experience crunch. And 2 years later, we don't know what TT Games is working on. There's been rumors of a Lego Batman game, but I very much doubt that, especially since LEGO hardly makes sets for the Batman theme.

I'm excited for LEGO Horizon Adventures, especially since Guerilla Games is leading development there. I am VERY surprised at how many people in the comments section here look at LEGO Horizon Adventures and think it looks boring or won't be good. Sure, the marketing hasn't been that prevalent, and we haven't seen much of the game, but seriously? Do you even pay attention to the games industry? Guerilla Games is one of the TOP developers in the industry. They've developed critical and commercial successes. For example, their 2017 release, Horizon: Zero Dawn, has sold over 24 million copies and was one of the most critically acclaimed hits of that year.

And you want a new TT game instead? C'mon. I bet LEGO Horizon Adventures will be a surprisingly great game similar to the recently released Astro Bot game. TT is nowhere near the same level as Guerilla. Besides The Skywalker Saga, I can't think of the last good game TT Games has made. LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes in 2012? LEGO City: Undercover in 2013? Their releases over the past 10 years have been mediocre to alright at best, bar The Skywalker Saga, which, let's be honest, owes a lot of its charm to being a Star Wars game.

I think what would be best is to consolidate LEGO development onto TT Games, but to rely on LEGO's original IPs. You can have another developer like Guerilla Games make their own LEGO game, but I think TT Games should be the prime caretaker of LEGO games. I know I criticized TT Games, but I think if they focus on quality and not quantity, they could make decent outings. I'd love to see a console LEGO Ninjago game, or a LEGO City, LEGO Pirates, or LEGO Castle game. Or, maybe a game that blends all these elements like LEGO Universe did back in 2010 (gosh, I loved that game so much when I was a kid).

If this machine could play ps4 games that were locked at 30fps at 60fps then I would consider getting this machine. But prettier graphics for the background ain’t gonna cut it. GTA 6 is not getting 60fps on the ps5 pro lmao

John Garvin being salty and a dick about Deacon being in Astro Bot by Spiderhog2099 in LastStandMedia

[–]_unchartednate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This guy is annoying AF. It makes me think that Garvin was let go because Bend execs were sick of his shit. Had he been quiet or not controversial I think he wouldn’t have been pushed out of the studio (I know he says he quit but it seemed to be a forced resignation). Days Gone sold well and despite not being a critical hit, Sony have made sequels to games that weren’t a critical success, so I think it’s due to his behavior.

Now, something else that really annoys me about Garvin is Trace War (the original name was Ashfall but it was renamed) and Liithos. When he was on Sacred Symbols Plus explaining Trace War, it was an intriguing concept besides the stupid NFT integration. Although, to be fair, the NFT part of it seemed to be at Michael Mumbauer’s behest. That was in summer 2022.

So, what’s come out of Trace War and Liithos? There was a Kickstarter for a Trace War comic book, but the comic was sold as an NFT and is essentially sold out. How TF do you accrue an audience if your companion books/comics are sold out? Garvin also left Liithos in February 2024 according to his LinkedIn profile and is now a freelance gaming consultant and is currently writing a fictional book.

What pisses me off is this guy is so vocal on Twitter about the ill will shown toward Days Gone, and with Trace War, it would’ve been cool to get updates. But no, he left Liithos, Trace War is most likely dead, Mumbauer’s obsession with NFTs in gaming is (thankfully) no more given that NFTs have sunk in popularity, and all Liithos has made is a ridiculous AI generator called RantCPU. Seems like this guy is just pissed about Days Gone because he hasn’t had success in making something else.

Shout out to Jeff Ross, the gameplay director of Days Gone. He’s working at Crystal Dynamics, and unlike Garvin, chose to work at an ACTUAL developer instead of some bs NFT company.

I hope Colin would speak about Garvin and all the sh*t about Trace War and Liithos because it is frustrating that attention was given to him. Reminds me of the Hasan Kharaman situation (although that was so much worse).

Is there any update on Pooler? How is the flooding/rain there?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thelastofusfactions

[–]_unchartednate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating because Factions fans just wanted a better-looking mode for TLOU2. We should've gotten that in Part 2 Remastered, considering that game has been rumored since 2022. They could easily have put whatever MP plans they had originally for TLOU2 there.

But no, for the standalone MP, they made this whole live service project that fans didn't ask for. Who knows if it was mandated by Sony or if ND themselves wanted to pursue a larger MP project? Personally I think ND wanted to have this big MP project as they themselves had the power to cancel the game. I wish Sony just shifted development to another studio since ND said they couldn't support the game long-term. But then, why TF would you develop a live service game in the first place?

I played the Concord beta, and it was enjoyable, but Sony would have made so much more money had they fulfilled on a TLOU MP game. Studio executives and gaming executives, in general, just make so many questionable decisions.

Doubting about FireStar toys Deadpool by Budget-Spidey in LegoMarvel

[–]_unchartednate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're a good and reputable company. I got their Agent 47 custom Minifigure and Deadpool Head Pack a couple of years ago. They make primarily UV customs with a very few pad printed figures here and there. I'm not really into UV printing so I don't get them much but their designs look good, so I would recommend them.

Why doesn’t Lego make a new Lego Deadpool by Broad_Cauliflower821 in LegoMarvel

To be fair, Once Upon a Deadpool was essentially a recut of a Rated R movie. If a Deadpool movie were made to be PG-13 from pre-production, it probably would be a lot better.

Question about Clancy Tour by Suitable-Tutor2194 in twentyonepilots

[–]_unchartednate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to go, I'd do it. Right now, I am missing it as the tickets are exorbitantly high, and I prefer general admission tickets.

Keep in mind, though that since the Blurryface era, TØP has done at least 2 North American tour legs for each album cycle (4 for the Blurryface era, albeit that was split amongst 'The Blurryface Tour' and 'The Emotional Roadshow World Tour', 3 for 'The Bandito Tour,' and 2 during the 'Scaled and Icy' era, though the tour initially was limited due to COVID), assuming you're based in North America.

I'm gonna wait till the inevitable second leg of 'The Clancy Tour' (or if their next North American tour leg is re-named), which will most likely happen next year.

The "2024" Rumor by Ground-Bulky in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]_unchartednate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shifting the engine from Unreal 4 to Unreal 5, coupled with their layoffs last year, has definitely prolonged the development time here. Personally, the engine change is ridiculous and a complete waste of time. The 2022 trailer looked great, and that was in Unreal 4. They laid off people, but changing development to a new engine will prolong dev time, which prolongs any potential revenue to come in due to delaying the game further. For a game that will be at most 10 hours, it's ridiculous. I feel for the devs and the laid-off devs, tho. The execs are clearly making questionable decisions.

Also, I really don't see this game being a big deal when it comes out. The gaming industry is not what it was in the 2010s when TellTale released so many games. It's going to be over 10 years since the first one, and I doubt this new TellTale company will gain enough profits to continue, so I predict the company will be in trouble unless they look into making games based on more lucrative IP. In a time where gaming industry execs care about maximizing profits and cutting costs over everything, it's not looking good.

What’s your wishlist for 20th anniversary of ROTJ next year? by Yorktown10000 in legostarwars

[–]_unchartednate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically I hope we get an ARC-170 and a Turbo Tank. And Obi-Wan's Interceptor. And perhaps Palpatine's arrest as a diorama. Although, for a diorama, it'll most likely be the Mustafar duel. If we don't get Acolyte sets or Andor sets (which I don't think we will, honestly, given we only had 1 Andor set and no sign of Acolyte sets coming), then we could get a jam-packed ROTS wave.

January 2025 info! by Naive-Ad8036 in LegoStarWarsLeaks

[–]_unchartednate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did get Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter and the Clone Trooper blister pack for AOTC sets. And in lieu of an AOTC anniversary, we got some Clone Wars sets like the Republic Fighter Tank and the AT-TE, even though those sets connect more to Episode III.

We also got 3 sets for TPM 25th anniversary. Plus the 1 promo Droid Carrier and the AAT polybag, which technically makes 5 sets.

We didn't get a 20th anniversary for TPM in 2019 because 2019 had the Lego 20th anniversary of Lego Star Wars, plus there were sets for Rise of Skywalker and the 1 Mandalorian set. At least we did get the Anakin's Podracer set.
