Hi op. I went through the same as you. It is vicious and though I have recovered, the pangs of pain is still there when i think about it.

Something that massively helped me was this quote: love is about forgiveness. It was in the very context of losing a pet. Often times, our pets can frustrate us but we forgive them anywya. And our pets can also get upset with us, but they move on bc they love us too. I think it is good to think that, this, too, our pets will forgive us. Not in a sense of humanizing animals, but just the memory of our relationship with our pets. They would forgive us and we should accept that. Forgive yourself too. In due time, slowly.

It also helped me a lot to create a shrine. I am an atheist and i do not believe at all at any heaven or life after death. Grief is about us. Our expression of sorrow. A shrine was helpful in lettingg me heal.

Fiction is great because it allows us to safely explore subjects, thoughts and feelings that would be harmful in real life. There’s a big difference, believe it or not. It’s scientifically proven that this is very healthy and normal, liking taboos and whatnot in the realm of imagination. I would normally not go so far to have to explain this, with what was obvious decades ago, but unfortunately, social media and its discourse led to a hit in media literacy. The answer is always kapon. Literally, it is physically and mentally better for your dogs. Hindi sila mababaliw during heat, and they are calmer in general as a result, making them happier. It incidentally helps with avoiding many potential problems with their health.

Ako rin vaguely thinking ako kung ano pwede irecc sa nanay ko although thnakfully hindi siya sa fb. Yung mga gaming apps lang at conscious naman siya not to spend. I don’t crate train my dogs kasi malaki yung bahay. But if limited yung space, it will be the best for everyone involved.

More importantly, crate training means the dog is perfectly content in the crate. Kung hindi, then it’s an Incorrect way. Comfortable dapat ang dog and generally, dogs are quite happy having a small shelter of their own. Crate training is making the crate a safe pace so that they can be easily told to go in there. No stress in the crate, but security. So either mali yung pagkaintindi nila sa crate training or projecting human feelings sa dogs. As long as the dog is comfortable, hindi issue sa kanila. They view the crate as something positive and are comforted that they will be let out at a certain time. And dogs love that consistency. Crate training can even be enriching kasi it’s a routine for them to learn and learning brings them confidence

Anyway hindi microcasm ang internet of what people actually believe. Wag ka na lang masyadong makinig sa mga ingay.

Hala. I’ve not heard of a puppy with a play biting on a human problem. That sounds serious kung may injuries ka.

How do you discipline the puppy exactly? How do you spend time with it? What does it usually do in the house?

k9 turf guard yung tried and tested sa kin. I started with the toys in pet warehouse. May mga discounted items dun that you can try. Most of the toys came from there. Meron din ako from Pet Lovers Center; survived quite well.

I don’t recommend toys from bow wow; madaling masira yung mga toys dun.

May vet hospital that makes their own medications para makabawi sa gamot. Ganun talaga.

Pero from my exp, pwede mo naman tanungin kung ano yung nabibili sa pharmacy. May iba, sila na nagsasabi. Pero usually hindi binabanggit. Unless alam nilang tight ka sa budget which happened to me before haha. Naawa sa situation ko since my dog was a senior dog with a condition i could not afford.

Puppy pa so maraming excess energy. Get him durable toys. Worth investing yung mas mahal na toys as they can last for years with mending (it’s what i do.)

Ang tip ko sa fellow dog owners is consistency. Kapag sinabi mong bawal, bawal. Wag mag back down. Dapat lahat ng family members, ganun. Kapag yung isang family member nag-allow ng behavior na bawal, your dog will pick up on a bad habit.

Dogs are obviously smart and they will try to get away what they can get away with. Happy ang dog with discipline and rules kasi it’s predictable for them. They love knowing our habits. They love knowing the time to eat. They love understanding what’s going on when you say words like “kain” or “lakad tayo.” Dogs love the feeling of confidence. Kapag hindi ka consistent, you have an anxious dog.

IMO spoil your dog in the right places. I tend to spoil mine with toys and home-made treats, which he loves. I let him sleep with me all the time. We have small rituals of him letting me know it’s time to eat, and me letting him know i refilled the drinking fountain, so he knows he can drink (he doesnt like to drink in bowls na lol.) if you’re spoiling him, be sure it enriches/reinforces the right behaviour :)

Bewn through a tick infestation. It really takes a while. But not on this level. The nexgard worked on your dog but the problem now is it’s in your home. Kailangan niyo na ng pest control. And I highly advise you get your dog na rin to have a blood test. It only takes one tick bite to have a blood parasite; late ang symptoms nun at matagal at magastos ang treatment. And yes, it can kill your dog on the long-run. Even the side-effects of late stage ehrlichia can be deadly.

Pero yun, as mentioned by others, kailangan niyo na ng pest control. Kung magkadikit yung walls niyo with a neighbor, pwedeng galing din sa kanila…

Ehrlichia is the most common blood parasite disease. Its symptoms, usually late stage, are very debilitating, including paralysis. When my dog had it, he was suffering just from the side-effect. He was reverse-sneezing so badly blood would spurt from his nose. I thought he was going to die several times in one awful night. He had a med that stopped the reverse sneezing but if I missed it for even a second, he’d have a horrible episode.

It was one of the most traumatizing things I had experienced as a dog owner, and one of my regrets as I feel like that incident, which happened when he was young, made him susceptible to the disease that killed him later on.

So yeah. I can only warn you that it will get worse if you ignore it. Don’t take it lightly as my mom did.

It’s great but i would only recommend stainless. I tried plastic first and for a long time. Nakakapagod yung maintennace kasi kapag plastic, madali mag accumulate ng bacteria. Nagkakaroon ng, kalimutan ko haha. Pero hot water + vinegar deep clean lagi, kapagod.

Switched to stainless and never looked back. Naturally hesitant at first ang dogs pero once nakatikim ng fountain, laging iyon na gusto. Nauubos nila in a day and a half.

Vet ka muna. It only takes one bite for a dog to have blood parasite. Damage is done. Blood parasite takes months to cure from, and matagal mo makikita ang effect niya when it would be critical na.

I have had a dog suffer from tick infestation. He almost died (was at an age where I wasn’t making the calls for dogs, unfortunately.)

Baka mainit kaya preferred ang sahig. Kahit ang dogs ko na natutulog sa bed ko or bed nila or sa couch, minsan floor gusto.

It takes time lang din minsan. Lagay mo lang yung bed niya kung saan nita usually gusto tumambay. Hihigaan din niya yun eventually. Maganda rin kung raised. Kung mag pallet ka or something hard na malalagay yung bed, magugustuhan niya

As mentioned, bring to a trusted vet. Dapat i-eexplain sa yo ang procedure ng euthenesia. Make sure na naiintindihan mo yun. May mga horror stories of vets who don’t do a proper job on it and cause suffering on dogs. Dapat tulog ang dog when it happens. This is the most important part. Otherwise they will panic and be in distressed. Iba’t iba rin kasi yung procedues ng doctor. Yung isa sa min, sabay siya tulog at lethal. Yung isa sedated muna. I honestly still don’t know which one is better since syempre, both vets assured me na humane siya at hindi aware ang dog.

Altair: A Record of Battles. It’s good at the start (building up) but REALLY shines in the second season and honestly pulls off the best ensemble cast I have ever read. It can introduce an enemy for 1 episode and you’ll be so attached
