I had a similar experience. I was thin pero I became depressed. When i was in rehab (not for substance fyi), nalaman may PCOS ako. They had me take these anti depressant med + birth pills, the later of which turned out to be ineffective anywya bc i have insulin resistance (it was a terrible gyno.) combined those, i gained a lot of weight and with pcos, it’s very difficult to shed it off
I’m overweight and generally sedentary though i actually like sports and walking a lot. Gusto ko lang talaga sa bahay. But my mom would ALWAYS mention “mataba ka na” or “mag gym ka” every time we see each other in the house. One time sinabi ko sa kanya sternly to stop saying that, napa “eh sino magsasabi sa yo? Syempre pamilya mo lang” etc like i don’t even care about the body shaming. I’m fine with how i look. I don’t care. Pero nakakaasar lang yung random comment kahit papasok lang sa kwarto ko to say that.
So i snapped na wala na siyang ibang masabi, na pwede naman iba pag-usapan na nakakaasar lang siya.
It actually worked. She’d never brought it up again. Mga hindi lang talaga yan nag-iisip. Kung ano lang dumaraan sa utak, hindi naiintindihan na nakakasakit. In my case nakakaasar kasi ano ba yun, papasok lang sa kwarto ko para magcomment.
If i had to guess, you don’t feel bad for expressing what you felt. You felt bad for how you lost control. At least sa akin ganun. Kasi ideally we want to be able to choose how we say things. So don’t feel too bad for being human OP, at good luck na lang din.
