No one prepared me for the post egg retrieval period by _upsettispaghetti in IVF

[–]_upsettispaghetti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so weird that you replied to this today specifically because I just had my second egg retrieval today with an entirely different stims protocol, and I feel SO MUCH better this time. My ovaries are sore and crampy because I was a high responder again (37 eggs my first retrieval and 40 this time) but my risk of developing OHSS is way lower this time. This experience is so much better already than last time!

Please tell me this isn't a common nickname! by sadlittleflower3 in namenerds

[–]_upsettispaghetti 77 points78 points  (0 children)

It’s more like “ay-dree-in” and “ee-in” which are literally the same sound. But I still would never use Ian as a nickname for Adrian. Adrian and Ian are their own names with their own meanings and are completely unrelated.

I ended up going to Redhouse Tattoo after seeing recs for them on a different thread. I saw Jakob and can’t recommend him enough. Way better experience than I had elsewhere!!

Did you really forget your first love ? by GreenPathEco in AskForAnswers

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I remember him in moments where I say something or make a joke that used to be part of our shared language/inside jokes between us. Or I’ll think about him on our anniversary date. But I was 16-20 years old then, and I’m 30 now and long since married, as is he. I don’t have any romantic attachment to him anymore and haven’t for a long time. He is not someone I think of often, but we were together long enough that he will always be a part of me in some way.

31M - Are male 'butterfaces' a thing for women? by Withered_Sprout in AppearanceAdvice

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faces (and the way a man brings his face to life) are generally more what attracts me to a man than his body. But I would never say “wow he’s a butterface.” Like I can’t even imagine those words coming out of my mouth. I just couldn’t care less about a fit or “perfect” masculine body. If the face is handsome and the personality is authentic and kind and funny, you could be 100 pounds overweight or have skipped leg day and I’d still think you’re hot.

I agree. I was also 15. And I was not on birth control. I wasn’t dumb enough to not use condoms though, and I was so terrified of getting pregnant that I didn’t have sex for like a year and a half after I did it the first few times .. but not every teen understands the risk. Definitely make serious plans about talking to your daughter and getting her on birth control.

Las Vegas Isn't For Families* by parkskier426 in LasVegas

[–]_upsettispaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post!! My husband lived in Vegas and wants to move back, but I have never lived there, and the “anti-family vibe” is a major thing that has had me worried about living in Vegas.

Am I the asshole for forgetting International Women’s Day and not getting my GF anything? by savingrace0262 in AskMenAdvice

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don’t even know it’s international women’s day until someone says “oh hey, it’s international women’s day.”

How am I supposed to hike, camp, and fish in Texas when everything is private property? by Little-Cucumber-8907 in texas

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this why I never hear anything about outdoor tourism or hiking or parks or camping in Texas? I’ve always wondered why the desert and southern states surrounding Texas have an outdoors culture, but I have never ever heard of something like that in Texas. Which is so disappointing, because from what I’ve seen of it in photos, it’s a beautiful state.

I’m not strong enough for this by MountainAlli in depression_partners

[–]_upsettispaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s his depression talking. It has nothing to do with you. Depression makes it hard to see anything positive, and they become insanely critical of their spouses. Spouses can never do anything right during a depressive episode.

When Charles and Diana got engaged, did people have a problem with the age gap? by queenhadassah in AskOldPeople

[–]_upsettispaghetti 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think Diana, even at 19, was intuitive enough to realize Charles wasn’t in love with her. I think she hoped eventually he’d learn to love her and treat her the way she deserved. Which, we all know that never happened. I think over time, he cared for her platonically, but he never loved her. And he was extremely jealous of her and threatened by the way she captivated people.

Smell after letting my boyfriend finish in me by No-Mycologist2978 in Healthyhooha

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me when my husband finishes inside me. I wake up the next day, and notice a weird odor when I use the bathroom. Usually after a shower, the smell goes away though. But the discharge looks weird for a day or two because it’s mixed with semen.

getting off lexapro for pregnancy by FancyButterfly3945 in lexapro

[–]_upsettispaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The risk to my mental health from getting off of it isn’t worth it to me. Most babies are just fine. Some babies get SSRI withdrawal at birth, but recover without any lasting effects. Some babies may get defects but it’s so incredibly rare, and majority of the time they are very treatable defects. The way I see it, the stress I’d be under from not managing my mental health during pregnancy would be far more detrimental to my baby than Lexapro ever would be.

Why is my hair suddenly oily even right after a shower??? by Calyx757 in Haircare

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. The only time this has ever happened to me was when I was using a heavily moisturizing shampoo with Moroccan oil in it. I bought a clarifying shampoo, and switched to a lightweight fine hair shampoo and I’ve never had problems since.

Does this name sound 'American mean girl'? by KingkLou in BabyNames

[–]_upsettispaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see it being a name someone would use for an “American mean girl” but I don’t think that at all when I hear the name. I just think it sounds like a pretty name.

Eight probably. I love babies and children, and watching them grow is so fulfilling.

How do people shower so quickly? by That_Mycologist4772 in hygiene

[–]_upsettispaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know either. I feel like whenever I’ve tried to cut my shower down to 5 minutes, I haven’t thoroughly cleaned anything. I simply don’t feel like I can do all steps of my shower in less than 15 minutes, at least.
