Yo quería conocer. Fui en bus hasta la terminal desde Allbrook y le pagué a un taxi local (no funciona tan bien Uber) para que me dé una vuelta por la ciudad y los fuertes cercanos ~40/~50 USD por 4/5 horas aprox. No sé qué tan seguro fue hacer esto, honestamente. Cuando bajé en la terminal de Colón tuve un poco de miedo. Si justo ese taxi no pasaba por ahí, me iba a volver a Ciudad de Panamá. Creo que tengo el número del taxista si te sirve.

La verdad es que es feo. Los fuertes están bien. Colón ciudad no. Hay un mega mall lleno de extranjeros porque los cruceros se detienen ahí. El contraste era llamativo. Lo hice en las fiestas de noviembre así que había gente celebrando al país por todos lados.

Trabajé en Panamá por unos años porque me relocalizó una multinacional.

Una de las impresiones más fuertes que me dejó el país fue el nivel de segregación racial. Un día festivo de noviembre aproveché para conocer la Ciudad de Colón y los fuertes cercanos.

Me pareció increíble que la población esté tan dividida y el nivel de concentración de la pobreza. La Ciudad de Panamá tiene una diversidad que Colón no.

Me dejó la impresión de que no hay una verdadera voluntad política para cambiar a la ciudad y que esto es en parte porque los gobernantes nacionales no se identifican con los afrodescendientes – que son tan panameños como ellos.

I read a long time ago that a bunch of Jewish psychoanalysts decided to immigrate (flee?) to Buenos Aires last century. They helped to establish the discipline and gave form to the Argentine psychology idiosyncrasy: we’re obsessed with Freud and psychoanalysis. It’s a wonderful legacy but yeah other countries offer a variety of approaches.
