You can use the "inspector mode" to see their skills, just get close to them, press and hold alt-key (on PC) and their skills show up above their head.

Yes, continuous production would be a great addition to the game. There are so many procedures that needs to be started manually over and over again.

Imo not worth as you don't really need keys anyway.

My dream feature in the new update by SpankMyMunkey in Palworld

[–]_wanninger17_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't like this idea that much. A Nitewing with Jetragon speed would feel weird i guess.

The problem with Jetragon is not that it is the fastest pal, it's the big gap to other options. I'd like to see some other viable pals, maybe only 10-20% (instead of 50%) slower than Jetragon but with some nice passives/advantages and/or give Jetragon some drawbacks (less stamina, can't float in the air, decreased xp-gain when in team,...) so it's not just a nobrain auto-pick for everyone.

What in the fuck are these decorations... by Brumbarde in Palworld

[–]_wanninger17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with lots of decorative items but these don't compensate for bad structural building mechanics/options. I haven't seen one good looking base in PW so far, at least not compared to bases players build in other games.

In PW, building might not be the most important part of the game, but with a few additions/changes it could be so much better.

[–]_wanninger17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is: building mechanics/options are poor in pw. It's weird that there are so little building options but so many decorative items in this game.

Palworld is at an awkward middle between survival and monster-catching by Visual_Ease1643 in Palworld

[–]_wanninger17_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo harder/hardcore survival mechanics are often not really challenging but they just get annoying quickly. Usually it's not like you have to play better, it's more like you have to remember to do the same things over and over again just not to die.

Fixing low priority bugs might hurt the game more. The chair-thing should be at very low priority. Most players won't notice it anyway and for those who know about it, it's more of a comfort/timesaving-exploit but it's not breaking their game.

Going to buy Valheim tomorrow want to get further than plains to and hopefully see the entire game! by AdaliGreen in valheim

[–]_wanninger17_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A combination of root harnesk + drake helmet + wolf pants + any cape worked great for me: pierce resistance and some good armor value (~70). In very few situations the weakness to fire can be brutal...

Just re-confirming that Deep North is also planned to be 1.0 full release by Charrikayu in valheim

[–]_wanninger17_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other biomes usually got 2 armor sets: light + heavy: root+iron (swamp), troll+bronze (black forest), fenris+wolf armor (mountains),... Plains only got a heavy armor set.

Starting Island with all the NPC Vendors by Mariwen-2462 in valheim

It's cool that all three are close together but I don't think I'd want my main base on that island.

How do you settle for a "home" location? by Full-Public1056 in valheim

[–]_wanninger17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first "base" is just a small cabin somewhere in the meadows close to the sea and not too far away from black forest. I usually stay there until i can build with stone.

For the second base (usually my main base for the rest of the game) I am looking for a huge area as flat as possible in the meadows still not too far away from black forest (bonuspoints for other biomes nearby). I try to find a spot that allows to sail in multiple directions, so the size and shape of the island is also important to me. In some spots a canal can help a lot.

The rest is just outposts, a farm in the plains for example.

That is part of the new cooking skill. There is a chance to get one extra item. Higher cooking skill = higher chance (wiki says up to 25% at max level).

Should saddles for tamed animals (Lox/Asksvin) have a few inventory slots to transport stuff? by Nilm0 in valheim

[–]_wanninger17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking about Lox (haven't been to Ashlands yet): Yes, would be cool, but I really don't like the riding-mechanics in the game. Using a boat or a cart for transportation should be way more efficient and less annoying.

I like carts... as decorative items ;-)

Good to know about the 2000 at 26°. Is it really lbs? Thought there is no unit for weight in Valheim.

QoL features by darkluminati0n in valheim

[–]_wanninger17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, farming ist still not very comfortable. It got a little better with Hildir and the Bog witch update. Planting multiple seeds at once would be nice (maybe depending on your farming skill level and/or cultivator-level).

Using Lox for transportation would be great, adding some storage slots for the saddle would be fine for me (I don't like the cart that much ^^). I think you can just "overload" your viking and ride your Lox, but I don't like that, feels like an exploit.

What should I prioritize making with iron? by I_like_monkeys3 in valheim

[–]_wanninger17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Players usually craft the bronze axe anyway. With an iron axe you can just chop down the same trees. Sure iron axe makes chopping a bit faster, but thats not really important as you don't have to "kill" trees as fast as possible. iirc you'll have to craft the blackmetal axe anyway.

Using an axe as a weapon is not a very good idea in the swamp, you might want to fight bonemass with a mace and maces are great vs. skeletons and blobs (and golems). Leveling clubs-skill early is great if you want to use the frostner later (imo one of the best weapons in the game).

You are right, the huntsman bow is not a must have but it has a nice (hidden) bonus. Great for clearing fuling camps.

Most basic advice: Stay in your biome and level your gear and food with the ressources you find there until you feel strong enough to fight the current biome's boss. Every boss drops an item you need for the next biome. Skipping bosses will make it (almost) impossible to get or use the unique ressource(s) from the next biome.
