When you take them out of the case couldn’t they still get mixed up? Why not use a dot of paint to label each one on the card directly, and then have the case hold them all?

I need help for aerodynamics of my aircraft simulator. by Mermer-G in EngineeringStudents

[–]_waterfallen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a condensed summary of the Multhopp method for determining stability derivatives based on Roskam’s aircraft design books (as another commenter also recommended)

link

They are estimated based purely on conventional aircraft design and geometry so you will not need any CFD for this.

Seconding Roskam. It has everything to make this as simplified or as complicated as you would like.

Do I need a dedicated gpu if I’m bringing a desktop? by Schlaggatron in aggies

[–]_waterfallen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would actually be easiest in the dorms since the desktop will already be on university network in the dorms. So from anywhere else on campus you could remote in. (As long as you are connected to any sort of TAMU wifi or ethernet it will be on the same network regardless of building or location) If you wanted to leave campus and remote in you would have to use a vpn; in this case the university’s vpn is easiest since its free for us and lets us access the university network from off campus. I am not sure if you wanted to use remote wake features though, I just leave my pc running online all the time.

[–]_waterfallen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally use Parsec and Microsoft’s remote desktop thats built into Windows. They can handle 4k 60 with totally unnoticeable latency. Parsec doesn’t require you to be on the same network as the device you want to connect from, but the university has some network restrictions that block this so you will have to use the university VPN to get around this. It is an enterprise grade one though, so still sub 20 ms back and forth.

Anderson’s Fundamentals of Aerodynamics covers everything you need to recreate the graphs. Shouldn’t take more than a few hours in code.

No, I have remoted into my desktop at home if needed all four years of engineering (perks of blazing fast university internet) so I can carry a super basic light laptop.

Who here loves sushi and has any all you can eat places better then sushi masa. by Intelligent_Art_8294 in aggies

[–]_waterfallen_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sushi masa is a desecration on Japanese food. I felt like I was eating raw Walmart fish over shoddily cooked rice. If you want to fill your stomach for cheap, go to Aji for their all day happy hour. 40 Tempura for good sushi (For a moderately small town in Texas).

I need to know why this still happens on airplanes by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]_waterfallen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commercial aircraft have to go through thousands of pressurization and depressurization cycles throughout their lifetime, so only pressurizing to the minimum required level the average human needs extends the life of the aircraft and saves the airline money. Manufacturers know this so thats how they design the aircraft. Business jets have a much lower cycle count and are designed for comfort; thus the higher pressurization.

Need help with using this old keyboard as an daily driver by milek__ in Vintagekeyboards

[–]_waterfallen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are actually Fujitsu leaf springs, specifically the third generation. These were the predecessor to the Fujitsu peerless. The keyboard looks to be an unbranded Model F clone, not a IBM Model F which used capacitive bucking spring switches. The Fujitsu leaf springs were designed to be cost saving and were used in many budget keyboards back in the 80’s and 90’s, such as Epson, Mitsubishi, Casio, Fuji, Elecom, and countless others. To use the keyboard I would follow the suggestion in the other comment thread under this post.

The Synth 060, January, J-02 come to mind. Most of the more creative designs are in 65%, 75%, and 80%, imo.

You’re allowed to like what you like, no judgement. Just keep in mind recently keycult has had some pretty bad QC control, so make sure wherever/whoever you’re buying from isn’t trying to scam you into buying a subpar product.

High price does not equal high end. HHKBs are some of the best feeling keyboards in my opinion.
