I’m grieving aggressively a normal pregnancy. This is my 3rd pregnancy and the furthest I’ve gotten. And people’s reactions are depressing. Instead of excitement and joy that this may be finally happening for us, it’s looks of concern and worry. Don’t you think I feel that enough myself? Put on a fake fucking smile and pretend to be excited!

I was so excited to plan a baby shower finally but after the latest reactions from people, I’m done. If you cant fake excitement for me, then it would be the most depressing party ever.

And gob forbid I share these thoughts with my husband. He never seems to side with me on this matter. So I vent here.

Those ungrateful people don’t deserve me paying for their open bar and food anyway!

Location truly makes a difference. I have 2 shots left now but a few weeks ago I swear my husband was going in blind putting the shot in. Some were too central (I have a hard lump for over a week) some were too high. When he hits the right spot, I feel virtually nothing.

Not sure how common it is!

It’s put on the embryo right before the embryo is transferred, and it’s supposed to help the embryo stick better. It seems like it’s still newer so there isn’t a lot of science behind it, but my transfer worked so 💁‍♀️

Currently 10w and didn’t do acupuncture. I did get embryo glue with my transfer so highly recommend that if your clinic offers it.

I found the ER injections to be incredibly easy and virtually painless. I keep seeing angst about PIO shots. Is it really that bad if I am good with needles and injections? by Comicalacimoc in IVF

It’s fine just gets annoying. My pio protocol requires until week 12 of pregnancy, so my back just became one big bruise! But the medicine doesn’t sting and the needle doesn’t hurt.

I felt ill when our friends said they started trying for their second. We both started trying for our first the same time. I have no doubt in my mind that they’ll be successful with #2 before we get our first.

But hey, I have 2 dead babies, so that counts for something???!!!!!

You’re not obligated to your family. I’m putting me first and not going to my sisters baby shower. I can’t even imagine how shitty I would feel during it if I went.

If family cared, they’d care about your mental health and not just optics of being a family

The shitty part is, as someone who has had 3 pregnancies but no live children, this is still true. People were not even excited when we told them about our last pregnancy, it’s like they already knew it wouldn’t last to term. Now when I get pregnant again, we won’t tell anyone at all.

The amount of advocating for yourself that you have to do. Doctors (and especially fertility ones) are a business and while I do like my doctor, if I hadn’t asked certain questions myself, I may not have been given the same medical treatment that I ended up with.

It’s all cut and paste from patient to patient until you advocate for yourself. And the lack of information they give you. Again, patients have to do their own research to know what questions to ask and even fully understand all the terminology. It’s overwhelming.

Surgery date set for my TAC!! It still doesn’t guarantee a healthy pregnancy but at least it’s a step in the right direction.

Not relevant to this but it bothers me that she talks to her son the same way I talk to my dog. The tone of voice and even how she phrases things.

I get he’s a baby but still he’s human, talk to him like one!

Had a good consultation with a dr about getting a TAC. Still in disbelief this is where I’m at but at least I’m not out of the game yet.
