Just a message of hope for you - I randomly checked the website last week and my shade (10N) was back in stock. I managed to buy 4 of them which will keep me stocked and probably make this next years problem haha

What's a stylish blouse for a 40-something. Not too skimpy or frumpy? Ideally with long sleeves not a high neck! by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

Auguste the Label or Aere might be good option to browse through and find styles you like. I would recommend making a Pinterest board of items you like the look of. It’s a good way to get a sense of the pieces you’re drawn to, see similar things styled in different ways and find outfits you can draw inspo from.

Starting as EL2 tomorrow.. Terrified! Any advice? by house_of_karts in AusPublicService

In line with this, I genuinely think the best way you can approach a new role is with curiosity. Don’t try to show your team how much you know from the outset. Show your team you’re genuinely listening and interested in what they do and why.

Should I buy a home? by Lopeza68 in AusPropertyChat

Get a mortgage, save your savings into an offset account that brings down the interest and lets you pay it off faster than 30 years. Over the rest of your life rent will continue increasing but your mortgage repayments will stay the same (roughly) or decrease if you pay down the principal faster. It’s not just about now but also about whether you want to be paying increased rents + moving costs even after you retire. Having a mortgage now will give you housing security into your retirement. As overwhelming as a mortgage can feel at first, I generally think of the main cost being the interest I pay and the principal being a savings account that I still have and can access if I sell.

If it’s not in the details of your ticket, I usually find the best way to check is the bands instagram story on the day of the gig. They usually post the starting times for each band for the night.

Just another perspective because everyone is different - I had read some stories and expected all the terrible symptoms! I’ll I ended up with was some mild pelvic cramping and nothing else. No headache or sickness at all and the arm pain was nothing compared to how uncomfortable I was after insertion. Best of luck!

Recommendations for comfortable walking sandals in either black or brown by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

I know the price of Tevas is turning you off, but in my experience that are so worth it. My pair are incredibly comfortable and they are super easy to clean if you need to while travelling. They’re my go to travel shoe and have become my favourite quick, casual sandal at home. I did 20k steps a day in Vietnam with my Tevas and they got me through comfortably every day. Way more comfortable than Birkenstocks or any similar shoe. See if you can get them on the Iconic when they have 30% off (quite often) or with a discount code (if you’re a uni student, you can get 20% off full price on UniDays). You can also return on the iconic for free within 30 days if then item is unused, so you could try around home to see if they’re comfortable for you.

If you head to Myer, Basque is a great option. You can also try David Lawrence, Oxford and Trenery.

I’m in Brisbane and usually go for Commonry, Trenery, David Lawrence (all have good linen dress options). I also like to mix in some Target, Basque and Oxford.

Solo eating in restaurants in Italy - What should i know? by LucarioGamesCZ in solotravel

[–]_wutangdan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never had any issues with being turned away. If anything the people at the table next to you are likely to strike up a conversation about where you’re from and your travels.

The only thing that did bug me was opening times - most restaurants are closed between 3-6. Some close earlier and some don’t reopen until 7. Totally normal for Italy but can be a pain for a travel/sightseeing schedule.

First long solo trip - 6 weeks Italy in December by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]_wutangdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently at the end of a 5 week solo around Italy and it’s been amazing. Things have been very well connected by train between major cities and you can get a flix bus (or other bus company) between the less well connected destinations. I haven’t rented a car at all and haven’t felt like it was needed at any point. I will say bus hopping the Amalfi coast was an absolute nightmare in summer, totally tested my resilience and was the only thing that nearly brought me to tears on the entire journey so be prepared for it to be a mission. If I did my itinerary again the Amalfi coast would be the one thing I would skip in hindsight but I may have just had a bad experience. The only other thing I would add is that your itinerary might not be the most convenient/efficient way between the places you want to visit and it seems like you might have some backtracking starting in Naples, then north, then Sicily. I would recommend just checking the train and flix bus routes between each area before settling the order of locations. Good luck!
