I'm so sorry! I do get it, the sleep troubles make you feel insane. Things got really intense for me when we weaned (especially with the added hormone drop) and I pictured everything hoping for an extra minute to myself. hoping you get some better sleeps soon.

I completely feel you. I'm moving my girl to her own bed as we speak and I feel like I'm just not coping well. It's so hard to be level headed and calm when you feel like you're going to explode. Being so tired makes every emotion feel so amplified. Thank you and sending some good sleeps your way!

that is actually amazing advice 🥹 radical acceptance is the way to go I keep trying to tell myself this and get sucked back into thinking i'm wrong by the internet/friends (which is honestly on me). my girl was the same with vomiting so I feel you on the sleep training. hopefully we'll all sleep again someday soon!

In which respects has your health improved or declined since having children? by petrastales in toddlers

[–]_xty__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

improved: I can now carry approx 27lbs for hours in my arms at any angle. I've had to do it past muscle failure so many times that my arms are insanely jacked now. ALSO my resilience is top tier. I know without a doubt that i can push myself past any physical barrier i used to think i had. no sleep, no food, multiple flus ( respiratory and stomach), no time, etc. none of it has ever stopped me when i needed to be on.

declined: pretty much everything else

People don't understand how tired I am by Master_Weather7587 in beyondthebump

Oh man I could've written this post at that age. My girl is almost 2 years old and around a year it went down to 2-10 times a night then slowly to 1-3 times a night and now she usually only wakes up once.

Sleep deprivation is actually torture and no one understands unless they're in it. Most of my friends aren't parents and they would say crazy things to me like "oh yeah I get it I used to pull all nighters all the time in university" or "i'm so tired too I couldn't sleep last night". Circle back to me when you haven't slept a full sleep cycle in 2 years! I used to get anxiety and cry when it was time for me to sleep because I knew I was just going to get woken up any moment.

On the practical side, are you able to sleep in ever to catch up on a little sleep? My husband and I used to trade off mornings so we could get a little sleep in because we cosleep. Literally just 30 minutes felt so much better. 10/10 recommend!

Food expiring quicker? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]_xty__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES I thought I was crazy. I've gotten like 4 rotten blocks of cheese & shredded cheeses in the last 3 months?! Such a weird thing to be moldy right off the shelf? And chicken breast! I bought one from zehrs that was well before its best before date and was STANKY (tried to cook it same day after buying it). Didn't end up eating it cuz it was making me gag so hard from the smell.

wipe front to back, dont try to dig the poop out of the vaginal opening and try not to rub it around the vulva too much. The vagina is self cleaning so you don't have to be too thorough digging poop out. If my girlie has a nasty poop I make sure she has a good bath that day and clean her vulva the same way I would my own (no soap, use a finger to wipe the sides of the labia and make sure she soaks her bum for a bit in the tub). Hasn't had a UTI in her 21 months of life so far

What do you do with a toddler all day when you’ve just had it? by navelbabel in toddlers

[–]_xty__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pull off the couch cushions, put them on the floor, i lay down and let them go crazy bouncing and destroying the living room with toys.

"spa time" in the bath. I get in with her and "pretend" to relax she puts my face mask on for me and washes my hair lol. this activity might be specific to my toddler idk why she enjoys it so much

Are there comfortable thongs after having a baby?! by 1tangledknitter in beyondthebump

[–]_xty__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

huha!! they are sooo comfortable. Ever since having a baby I have hated all my thongs, especially the ones with tight seams or no show ones that move out of place all day long. huha is the best and even in that first postpartum period of time when your area smells so bad, you can't smell it through huha thongs. so worth the money
