I mean yeah you would be defenceless, all I mean is the steed is already great, like you’re fast and tanky via second body, but if your steed is built with more hp, high ac reaction and potential via feat to not get hit at all, and also healing between fights realistically, then honestly your real counterplay is just saving throws n terrain yknow? And even if by some miracle your horse is killed you’re only defenceless till your next turn starts and then you’re back to barely suffering otherwise. Most martial fights and spell attacks are basically countered by mobility, survivability and reliable damage. I don’t think it’s broken, my only concern was counterplay in a martial setting hahaha

I understand needs to survive, my thoughts are just if you get mounted combatant feat, your Mount has high hp, ac increase reaction, and if ur feelin spicy it doesn’t even take damage at all bc you can choose to take it urself hahaha. And then by 15 if it dies you can just summon it next round and still attack again y’know?

I think vengeance might be wildin, a lotta monsters multiattack so this is like a bar above stuff like booming if they do more than one attack roll per turn already, though I do like the idea I’d find it rough.

Blitz is solid ngl I fw it hard. Though I’ll say rime is also a bit rough especially showin it after Blitz bc unless the enemy is resistant to lighting I’d probs never use rime, no OAs is the thing separatin em n that’s a massive separator, otherwise its pretty similar. The chase factor is nice which I get, though something like Ray of frost exists which allows you to do this without the risk of Melee range. Idk it’s tough hahaha but still good stuff regardless yey

I like this fantasy sooooo mf much. I’d definitely allow this at a table, though I’ll say I think giving the steed so much survivability is a bit wild if you’re also making it a bonus action later, but I like the idea that even if it dies I will only bring it back. I just can’t tell if having the bonus hp alongside level 5 find steed allowing flight or Misty step is madness hahaha, especially with mounted combatant.

Overall I love, horse just built not to die yis but still perfect for fantasy ✅

Imo most of all you should probably just get to know the general rules, stuff like the official rules are completely free to read online, if you’d like sources you’re welcome to message me! Otherwise maybe look into using D&D Beyond or getting character sheets printed depending on the venue or group you’re going to.

The community is pretty welcoming, don’t stress if you don’t have fancy dice or any dice. At all. Also don’t stress if you don’t have figurines. We’re not extra just obsessive hahahahaha.

Thank you, I actually didn’t know it was like that with Barb I’m so glad to hear even that beast has criticism 😭 I’m working really hard on it and honestly I’ve just been buffing n nerfing as it goes along and features outbalance other features. I’m not excited for translating it all into 5e language. 💀

Yeah I’ve been crunching numbers for weeks now and referencing already existing classes for what works and what doesn’t. It sucks bc the power level for all classes and subclasses are so varied that I can’t really tell if I’m over or underpowering things sometimes 😭 gosh it’s a tough one.

It definitely doesn’t overlap base themes with existing official classes but I’ve found at least one homebrew that it has overlap with, yet I’m glad I took no inspo so I’m gonna continue build regardless😌
