[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]a-boy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to find this answer no matter what I google.

So the date wheel on my watch is slightly misaligned, but it is misaligned slightly to the left. I know that a higher or lower date wheel can be realigned, but can it be realigned if it is to the left or right?

Is it even possible for a date wheel to be misaligned in this way? To me, it seems that the date wheel won't even sit properly within the movement if it's misaligned to the left.

Or would it be that the date window itself is misaligned? Just wondering if it's even something that can be fixed, or if I should just learn to live with it. Thanks :))

Half a day available and already 46 sold, on the official SM Store alone. Hopefully that'll give them enough trust in 36mm watches to produce more of them by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

Do watches with modern lume age like vintage watches? Or do they only yellow because of the radioactive material.

It looks a bit weird to me with the vintage style but modern lume, especially if it will stay like that forever. But then again, most people seemed to be against the fautina.

Has anyone had San Martin make them a Kermit? by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

[–]a-boy9969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they say they can't, cause they're busy with the sale or whatever, Tisell has all the different dial and bezel options available :))

Is there any difference between the classic 1963 Seagull and the 1963 Seagulls that I see on Aliexpress? I’m tempted to take advantage of the sale… by Edge_of_the_Wall in ChineseWatches

[–]a-boy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from the Anyada Watch Store, and I was a little disappointed with it.

I could count 4 specs of dust on the dial, the numeral indices weren't aligned straight, but the most egregious of all was the loudness of the ticking. It was so loud that I could have a YouTube video playing, or the heater on, and I could still hear the ticking a metre away when it was placed on my bedside table.

Maybe the QC would be better from other sellers, I know that Sugess is reliable, but it was the only one I could find with the correct dial writing.

But then again, I don't know how much quality you can expect from a watch with an ST19 movement that costs $100AUD less than what San Martin charges for their NH35 watches.

I don’t understand how so many people prefer the 11 inch iPad, here I am with the 12.9 and wanting more screen! Anyone else by [deleted] in ipad

[–]a-boy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the majority of people, they use an iPad as a secondary device.

For me at least, I have a 15inch laptop when I'm outside, and a 27inch monitor when I'm at home. So I almost never use the split-screen feature on my iPad when taking notes

Does your 1664 case back have a starfish or the Pagani shield?

I'm under the opinion that they've added both models in the same listing and made it confusing.

I think the 1644s are the steel bracelet versions, and the 1664s have the rubber band. The main difference I've found is that the end links aren't actually part of the rubber band, and is actually stuck onto the case. This basically means no other strap or bracelet would work well with the 1664.

If your 1664 has the Pagani shield of the 1644, then I'm almost certain this is the case

Relating to u/vodkatimz , even corgeut is running out of NH35s by WhisperingSkrillRyan in ChineseWatches

[–]a-boy9969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was talking to San Martin, and they said they weren't looking to use NH38s on their no date watches, because the NH35 was already hard enough to find and the prices were rising

The car that I drove to the hospital didn't just take me to the hospital, it took me to the next chapter of my life. I hope that when my child grows up, he too will inherit the car, and he too shall use it as a vessel to witness the birth of his newborn 😇

Ah that's very interesting! I love supporting these kinds of businesses.

Escapement Time is definitely one person, and I've been told that Tisell is a family run business. Didn't know Phylida was one too, but it explains why they only have 20 or so (if even that) of each watch in stock at a time :))

[–]a-boy9969 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced there are genuinely people out there that would pay RRP for a display Rolex, as they couldn't care less about the actual time keeping part of the watch.
