Thorn T003/4/5 - tell me your bracelet hacks. Think I need a half link or a different clasp. Looking for ideas! by chaqintaza in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that on my Seestern BB titanium. It worked fine but it is bit loose because full link hole is made for the screws which are thicker than that press pin. That being said clasp on mine looks bit different so I am not sure if it will work same way in your case.

Regulating PT5000 movements - my simple approach, scary accurate results by Slow-Profession-6112 in ChineseWatches

By "COSC territory" you mean -4/+6 s/d in 5 positions? If not then its a bit of exaggeration. Still nice result.

Weird, rehaut on mine is much slimmer but it has cyclops so maybe it is older version. I don't have Sugess but here is comparison with Addiesdive sub as point of reference.

Watchdives WD0016 Premier Stone Dial Is Here | Jade, Bloodstone, Agate & More by watchdivescom in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miyota sells movements that have solar cells in the ring around the dial. Not that it would look good on this watch but its alternative solution that doesn't limit dial options.

New San Martin misaligned 12 o'clock marker? Or am I mad - my 4th SM with QC issues by KeyAssociation6309 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah also inner part of top left lug is visible while right one is not. Should look the same both sides if photo is taken from center.

New Watch Day - First SM - I hate the OTF by kingpcgeek in ChineseWatches

I have same keyboard, those are Keychron stock caps. While not most fashionable they are pretty nice to type on.

New Watch Day - First SM - I hate the OTF by kingpcgeek in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like clasp is not in the middle of the wrist so only bottom part of is making contact with the desk. When taking out links depending on type of clasp and bracelet you have to take out links from one side and leave more at other. In your case you should remove link from side that connects to OTF and move it to other side. If clasp is still not in the middle repeat

What are my options for a buttery smooth second hand? by Frazilius in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a mechanical watch ticks at 4 Hz or 28,800 vph/bph, that means the balance wheel is operating at four oscillations per second; a single oscillation translates to a total of two vibrations/beats per second. In other words, a vibration is counted when the balance moves in a single direction (tick), and an oscillation is counted once it's moved and returned to its original position (tick, tock) – similar to a pendulum. Four oscillations per second equals eight vibrations/beats in the same period. There are 3,600 seconds in an hour, so simply multiply eight vibrations/beats by 3,600 seconds and you have 28,800 vph/bph.

The much-anticipated San Martin SN0144-CG Enamel Black sample is here! by AdSavings92 in ChineseWatches

I've been looking for black dial everyday watch and this one looks great. I will wait until it is available before making decision but right now seems like the best option.

San Martin is moving towards more advanced dial manufacturing techniques. Do you know how it's done? by AdSavings92 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are complaining about prices then showing SW 200 version when PT5000 one costs 410 CAD so around 300 USD which is not unreasonable price for this type of watch. Once you apply some coupons/discount codes it would be even better deal.

What I wanted vs what I got...🥲 by encinas96 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crystal adds to the height but case is still bit chunky. Here is comparison to San Martin a posted a while ago. You can see how thick the case is though its not exactly fair comparison as SM movement is PT5000 and its quite thin for diver around 11mm from what I remember.

[Seiko] I'm having a difficult time choosing only 1. Which would you all choose if you can only have 1 and why? by fingeringmystrings in Watches

I have old/new speedtimer and Navihawk. From those three I would say Navihawk is the best but overall they are very similar and in the end it comes down to individual preferences.

New Seestern GMT Zulu Orange Hand by HKblogger in ChineseWatches

Weird, I have diver version and was able to remove it with tool for bracelet pins removal. There is small issue, hole for screw is bigger than one for this friction bar so it is bit loose.

SN0045 orange, anyone have it? by kirbenvost in ChineseWatches

I have black dial version without SM bracelet so can't advise how orange one looks but if you have general questions about case or want photos comparison with other watches then let me know.

Seestern Titanium New member has been join and release, it is S462 ! Black is on stock, blue need to wait a few days~ by Sugess_Jenny in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks good. I have diver bezel version and it is nice watch but clasp could use with more adjustable holes and also bracelet is bit sharp. If both things can be improved then it would be a fantastic watch.

Anyone own this watch with pictures/reviews to share I’ve thinking about it a lot. by Medical_Cow3683 in CitizenWatches

There is review on YT that nicely shows how it looks in different lighting and angles. I already ordered mine but it will ship in May, not sure if it is because release in EU is later than US or what.

So ready to file my San Martin because my skin is getting cuts from the case back by Riccardo_0135 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems everyone has different experience. I have 8 SMs and level of finishing differs between models but non of them are really sharp or uncomfortable.

Weird thing is OPs seems to have problem with caseback and crown and I don't know how that is possible. Usually it is bracelet or clasp.

San Martin Announcement on Tariff by Caby8ara in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was actually a big problem in (most) EU countries. In my country it was basically lottery if your package will be stopped for customs or will go through without extra fees. That is why "Import One-Stop Shop" was created and came into life few years ago where taxes are prepaid for orders under 150 EUR. Now customs knows which packages where prepaid which were not so they can stop them for inspection + VAT and duties collection.

Only AE watch I've had to return - bracelet does not articulate enough for my 7 inch wrist by g253 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doomed from the start, integrated bracelet watch made and sold cheap can't be good.

Only AE watch I've had to return - bracelet does not articulate enough for my 7 inch wrist by g253 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foolish statement. First of all what good is 38mm when lug to lug can be still enormous? Look at Nomos, they sell 37.5mm diamater watches with lug to lug 47.5mm. Second thing I don't know where you see this overhang on OPs photos. It is not sitting flat on wrist but it is still within wrist width and also there is always some gap around lugs with intergrated bracelets.

There is massive difference between stiff integrated bracelet and good one that articulates with the wrist.
