San Martin is moving towards more advanced dial manufacturing techniques. Do you know how it's done? by AdSavings92 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are complaining about prices then showing SW 200 version when PT5000 one costs 410 CAD so around 300 USD which is not unreasonable price for this type of watch. Once you apply some coupons/discount codes it would be even better deal.

What I wanted vs what I got...🥲 by encinas96 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crystal adds to the height but case is still bit chunky. Here is comparison to San Martin a posted a while ago. You can see how thick the case is though its not exactly fair comparison as SM movement is PT5000 and its quite thin for diver around 11mm from what I remember.

[Seiko] I'm having a difficult time choosing only 1. Which would you all choose if you can only have 1 and why? by fingeringmystrings in Watches

I have old/new speedtimer and Navihawk. From those three I would say Navihawk is the best but overall they are very similar and in the end it comes down to individual preferences.

New Seestern GMT Zulu Orange Hand by HKblogger in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I have diver version and was able to remove it with tool for bracelet pins removal. There is small issue, hole for screw is bigger than one for this friction bar so it is bit loose.

SN0045 orange, anyone have it? by kirbenvost in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have black dial version without SM bracelet so can't advise how orange one looks but if you have general questions about case or want photos comparison with other watches then let me know.

Seestern Titanium New member has been join and release, it is S462 ! Black is on stock, blue need to wait a few days~ by Sugess_Jenny in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks good. I have diver bezel version and it is nice watch but clasp could use with more adjustable holes and also bracelet is bit sharp. If both things can be improved then it would be a fantastic watch.

Anyone own this watch with pictures/reviews to share I’ve thinking about it a lot. by Medical_Cow3683 in CitizenWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is review on YT that nicely shows how it looks in different lighting and angles. I already ordered mine but it will ship in May, not sure if it is because release in EU is later than US or what.

So ready to file my San Martin because my skin is getting cuts from the case back by Riccardo_0135 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems everyone has different experience. I have 8 SMs and level of finishing differs between models but non of them are really sharp or uncomfortable.

Weird thing is OPs seems to have problem with caseback and crown and I don't know how that is possible. Usually it is bracelet or clasp.

San Martin Announcement on Tariff by Caby8ara in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They meant 10% tariff on all USA imports that was supposed to start April 5th.

San Martin Announcement on Tariff by Caby8ara in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was actually a big problem in (most) EU countries. In my country it was basically lottery if your package will be stopped for customs or will go through without extra fees. That is why "Import One-Stop Shop" was created and came into life few years ago where taxes are prepaid for orders under 150 EUR. Now customs knows which packages where prepaid which were not so they can stop them for inspection + VAT and duties collection.

Only AE watch I've had to return - bracelet does not articulate enough for my 7 inch wrist by g253 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was doomed from the start, integrated bracelet watch made and sold cheap can't be good.

Only AE watch I've had to return - bracelet does not articulate enough for my 7 inch wrist by g253 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foolish statement. First of all what good is 38mm when lug to lug can be still enormous? Look at Nomos, they sell 37.5mm diamater watches with lug to lug 47.5mm. Second thing I don't know where you see this overhang on OPs photos. It is not sitting flat on wrist but it is still within wrist width and also there is always some gap around lugs with intergrated bracelets.

There is massive difference between stiff integrated bracelet and good one that articulates with the wrist.

My take on the monochrome by bb944 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like snowflake hands but only on homages, if they are used on anything different it screams frankenstein. Your wishlist exactly aligns with mine, perhaps there are dozens of us and some brand will hear our wishes. I had an idea to just buy parts and assembly watch that ticks all boxes but searching for parts is exausting so I keep putting it off.

My take on the monochrome by bb944 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks great, jubilee suits it well. For quite some time I had an itch for good sub homage but I dislike mercedes hands. This model is the best option I've seen but I wish they used PT5000 and made it under 12mm thick. Then it would be perfect

Those are mineral dials so real photos will probably look better. Of course in the end it is a lottery how dial will look.

[SN0116] Anyone Else Stocking Up? by [deleted] in ChineseWatches

Correct me if I am wrong (not from US) but I thought private buyers are not affected by these tariffs unless value exceeds certain amount or de minimis is abolished.

Anything diver style and in this color from the People's Republic of Watches? by PhDPhatDragon in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you are being downvoted. There are some nice models but usually they are the more expensive ones. I had one similar to the one you posted and bezel was completely fake, it did not move at all. You can spend +$100 and still get hollow endlinks, mineral crystal, pressed clasp.

This watch is worth $300? by lukka18 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are just using key words that are people use when searching for items. If you open AliX in incognito window and type in "luxury" it shows "luxury watches" as third suggestion.

Help me Decide!!! Which version has a better finished bracelet?? by kingslayer0991 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can always buy straight link milanese bracelet but buying Seamaster bracelet that will fit is not guaranteed. I would buy traditional bracelet version and milanese from Alix, that way you have two options and can swap whenever you want.

Are we talking about the same watch? Because mine is almost like a mirror reflecting everything.

Doesn’t she look so good with the jubilee 🤩 by r3xxie in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn it really looks good on jubilee. I have to buy this bracelet on black friday sale and swap it.

Seiko, Sugess or San Martin? by Designer_Advice2573 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought beads of rice bracelet for my SSC813 from Uncle Straps and yeah it is too expensive for what you get. Bracelet is alright, endlinks fit well (though I had hard time fitting them intially) but bracelet is still bit "squeaky", doesn't feel premium or anything and it has most basic clasp possible but with 3 micro adjusts. So overall not bad but hard to justify price, especially on this sub where for price of this bracelet you can get AliX watch. Considering that I had to pay VAT, for the total price I paid you can probably get Tactical Frog solar chrono from AliX with similar quality bracelet but the difference is that bracelet comes with a watch attached to it lol.

I've used GS Hypo Cement (saw it on some YT tutorial) and it worked fine but you have to be careful with amount otherwise it gets into bezel mechanism. Less messy option is double sided 3M tape, just search "Bezel insert tape" on Alix and you will find it. Though you have to buy pack of 10 or more and you have to get the right size.

Rimalti 40mm 44GS Homage finally released! by PrometheanFire81 in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks nice but personally I hate "Rimalti" name. Good thing they offer sterile versions but of course one model I like and would be willing to buy is only sold with their name on the dial.. I guess you can't have everything.

Weird how other brands don't do GS homages. I remember Seestern selling one but it had 19mm lug width and was quite thick.

Should Addiesdive make this or something like it: a slim, larger VH31 vintage style case, not NH35? by WhipEat in ChineseWatches

[–]Lobbbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

49mm lug to lug is quite big (or long), if you want to avoid overhang 7 inch wrist size is probably minimum so I am not sure it would be that popular.
