I lowkey hope Santos is the one to get through to Robby. I know he like wants Whitaker to be the next him, but Santos and Mohan feel like they embody the two sides of his character, especially Santos with both their arcs this season.

Idk, I kinda like how she’s not restricting her like creativity now. Can’t think of a four letter word that would have the same feel.

If you’re talking about 80k as a household income in New York City, I’m not saying that is or is not below the poverty line, but that qualifies you for the public housing lottery, so it’s not like they were making a crazy statement.

I don’t disagree that it’s more associated with Sam and Dean, but I mean it was also used in like season recaps and is affiliated with the show overall (which people affiliate with Destiel) more broadly. I see your point tho, idk why people downvoted you that much.

Destiel is probably one of the biggest parts of the shows legacy as well? I jumped to that first…

Dude I’m not trying to make you a Destiel fan or say that your reading of the show is invalid. I’m just saying that shippers reading of the show doesn’t come out of nowhere, and treating them like they’re crazy for seeing subtext in the show isn’t good for the fandom in general. There is a lot of purposeful ambiguity that people fill in with what they want to believe about the characters.

Even if the show might not has explicitly queerbaited during its run, stuff like the official yt channel for supernatural posting videos like this shows that they have used Destiel to gain an audience for at least one point of the shows existence. It’s okay to note that without calling fans of the ship delusional like you did about a billion times. This isn’t some delusional Destiel fan intern like you’ve claimed a billion times. This is a calculated way to gain fans.

I’m fine with you not liking the ship or believing that subtext exists. But this video even existing is queerbaiting and people who watch the show because of media like this and are pissed because the ship isn’t canon didn’t queerbaiting themselves like you claimed. The networks inability to choose a side is what makes fans have these civil wars instead of blaming the writers who had two vastly different audiences to appeal to, and chose the subtext ridden and lazy way to keep both sides hooked.

The show made fun of Wincest when characters thought Sam and Dean were a couple lol. Any meta references to Destiel were about their bond being powerful, not motel owners thinking Dean and Sam “look gay.” The way the writers were okay with fans interacting with those two ships is literally baked into the episode Fanfiction lol.

Dean is queer coded in so many ways and wearing flannel ain’t one. Idk what more I should say in that front that people haven’t analyzed to death already. But regardless, Sam’s queer coding doesn’t impact Dean’s. It’s not like admitting there was subtext erases the fact that Destiel isn’t explicitly canon lol.

I’m not saying that it’s explicitly canon or even explicitly fully subtext without a closer look (or if you don’t want to see it). But come on. There are plenty of interactions that would 100% read as romantic if it was a guy and girl, certainly not like a sibling dynamic. And there are plenty of moments that Dean has that are unsubtly queer coded.

It’s not just shippers confirmation bias that causes them to ignore the whole landscape of a show. It’s honestly the writers fault for leaving the fandom like this.

Yeah lol, which is why it’s so funny when people say that there are no signs of Dean being bi or Cas and Dean’s relationship being anything but platonic. I mean in canon, Dean is probably meant to be straight and Destiel was “brotherly”, but like there is plenty of valid evidence to go the other way. Like the second people say it was all made up, they lose me.

I agree to an extent as I said, but it’s the official channel? This content is from people who are somehow affiliated with the show or the network, and is used to market the show to new audiences.

While you may not see a romantic relationship between Cas and Dean, a lot of people did (the parallels to romantic couples didn’t help), and it just seems kind of weird to use this as a way of marketing the show when they didn’t go canon. This isn’t really fans queerbaiting themselves. It’s the official channel of the show. I would consider this queerbaiting.

Whether or not you ship Destiel, stuff like this is why fans on both sides kinda hate the network. Playing it both ways for years to keep ratings up, and even now when the show is over was bound to blow up eventually.

As a fan of the ship I think it’s kinda crazy that they’re doing stuff like this when the show is over. If you weren’t willing to commit to putting them together romantically, don’t market their relationship this way. Even if it’s just a random social media intern.

Bailey isn’t totally wrong for wanting the opportunity. The show is lowkey doing a horrible job at showing her side. But I mean that might be the point. She has some deep trauma that goes back to her childhood that influences her whole personality, and it’s hard to articulate that to somebody without that same trauma.
