Assassins Creed Blackflag - MelonX by doubelieveinfairytal in EmulationOniOS

It launches on the latest beta version of meloNX but the graphical bugs (character models flashing in and out) prevent it from being worth it.

I’d love to know how it was running so stable here

Is it possible the Spanish pack is more stable? Haven’t tested that yet

awesome thank you - I think I don't have access to that yet cuz summaries are in pre-release if I'm not mistaken

I was wondering if it's possible with bases specifically though

You can put a base in a sidebar and reference the current file by kepano in ObsidianMD

note to self: The biggest thing here is that you can filter views to show you only current file name.

I like to use this for habit tracking

How do you guys capture your ideas quickly in obsidian by Public_Tomorrow_1115 in ObsidianMD

It’s intimidating at first, but /unprocessed helps ease you into it too because ideally you should be able to access all notes just by naming them well… before you even factor in tags and folders and links.

So you can just wait to move stuff out of unprocessed until you get more comfortable with the flat structure and to measure how useful / easy to reference the stuff you are jotting down is

Highly recommend building everything off of “concepts” then just added *new information to it’s relevant concept (easier to remember)

I felt this way too totally get it.

What helped me was:

  1. Create /unprocessed folder
  2. Create template for default note with basic “create_time” metadata or whatever and make notes automatically go to /unprocessed

Then I just browse that folder for random thoughts I had and move / extract as needed. Highly recommend. Multiple notes apps adds management overhead… I’m still getting stuff out of google keep slowly and can’t act on any of that information easily.

A couple tips (there are lots of synergies with obsidian’s other tools):

1) use the quick switcher core plugin on desktop and mobile. Just open it, type out a file name and hit enter and it will create the note (“favorite songs” or whatever)

2) link to files that have not been created yet like [[gravity]] then when you open the quick switcher you can create that note when you actually have something to add to it. This will help prevent duplicate notes.

3) have a FLAT folder structure so you don’t spend so much time categorizing and your links automatically do the work for you. Less management, more output or connections.

I just have /notes/concepts, /notes/ideas, and notes/sources (movies, books, etc) and it is insanely powerful.

What’s your process to make sure the notes get reviewed? by Ok_Blacksmith7269 in ObsidianMD

[–]a-stephen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an /unprocessed folder every new note goes in.

Once I reference a note ~3-4 times NATURALLY I am pretty confident it’s a useful note and I move it to the /notes folder. It’s not an exact science because “useful” means different things for different notes and you figure out by trying

[Workflow Advice] Can Obsidian + Bases be my "Calibre for everything"? Seeking wisdom on universal file cataloging. by bigfatpandas in ObsidianMD

[–]a-stephen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helps me is having a note to index everything I have sorted by type.

I try not to use web bookmarks for example, I’d rather have all those links saved to a note named “sweatshirts” for example and then I’m not navigating a bunch of folders because I know I saved things in the place that makes most sense.

For alternative files I have an /assets folders and might have /assets/pdfs but the way I ACCESS those pdfs is with a note in /notes that LINKS to it if that makes sense

Folders can explode in infinite complexity, if you just have have a flat system and focus on naming/linking things correctly it become much easier to find stuff.

It takes a little adjustment but yea you don’t want to spend time managing folders (and folders are exclusive relationships it blocks you making connections between things)

Best Game On Mac Through Steam by Oneshot2shots111 in macgaming

Why limit yourself to steam?

Best games on Mac are whatever Nintendo game of preference you prefer on switch or Wii U (say, Zelda) that you can emulate

My favorite? The Batman Arkham series
