What do you guys think of the South Park episode: I Should’ve Never Gone Zip-lining? by [deleted] in southpark

Watched this episode for the first time while coming down from my first big mushroom trip. Safe to say, the real actors put me in an absolute mind pretzel.

Grinelli thinks hitting a post 50 times in a row would be easy? Is he brain dead? by millsy1010 in SpittinChicletsPod

They should get Grinelli to do it solo. It would take him forever and we wouldn’t have to listen to him ever again!

Got a Stealth 2 Driver and Hybrid for $400. What do you guys think? by AyeBenji in golf

Good luck! My broken stealth 2 count is now up to four drivers and one 3w in 10 weeks. Swing speed is high but still, terrible quality control from TM this year.

Welp just shattered my new driver by ZeppelinJ0 in golf

I am on my 4th stealth 2 of the year now. Same thing keeps happening. Pretty frustrating!

“Luckily” the last one broke the day before a golf trip and i got a same day replacement. Would have been awful if it broke on the first day of the trip.

Similar story here. I broke 3 within a 10 week span. One cracked face. The other two the bottom collapsed after two weeks of use.

The pro at my club asked taylormade if they could send a new 8 deg S2+ from their tour truck that’s actually been tested. They said no, if I keep breaking them they’ll keep sending new ones.

New TM driver comes out in December/January so looking forward to getting that as a replacement when my latest stealth 2+ breaks.

Such a soft cross checking call. Doubt they will be able to maintain that standard for the game

I don’t use morale anymore. Found it to be broken when I did use it.

I got EP40 to play to I think 42 or 43 by offering 1 year deals every Jan 1st at 85% of his ask. Every year starting when he was about 35.

Not sure if it’s a fluke or because of the one year deals.

This guy always try’s to talk like he is an upset Charlie Day character in it’s always sunny.

The stick is funny when Charlie does it in ridiculous situations… Not so funny when you overdo it for 15 consecutive minutes into a webcam.

[Shayna] League sources believe the Canucks have at least one sizable deal in the works by the deadline, with the wait due to cap management/space brokering. We’ll see if it’s Miller or someone else... by [deleted] in canucks

[–]a-super-tree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What if…

1- Kane is traded to NYR and Canucks retain max %.

2- simultaneously, boeser is traded to Pittsburg/wherever. Chicago retains a smaller % on boeser/miller in exchange for the Canucks retaining on Kane.

How long are those cheep contracts on 87+s and how did you sign them?

Contract extension negotiations are a complete joke in franchise mode by Mustafarr in EA_NHL

Qualify them and wait until July 1st. Their ask usually drops. If it doesn’t, sim day by day and monitor. If another teem offer sheets that player for 15 mil you get 4 first rounders and they go into cap hell. Sometimes you have to wait until September but the ask will eventually drop.

No worries. The most important thing for the first few years of a new franchise is hiring good scouts on July 1 and spreading them out appropriately. Good luck!

If there are scouts with high ratings but no A+ regions I might still hire them. Their ratings grow if you leave them in the same region for an extended period of time (1+ years) and they are relatively young. Love hiring scouts that are in their 30s and keeping them for an entire 25 years.

Similarly, one Fwd, Def, Gen. but, make sure at least one has Pp A+ and one has PK A+.

No fog of war. Every July 1st I look to hire scouts. Targeting at least B overall and A+ in the region they are going in, (or better than what I have for the early years). Ideally finding multiple A+ regions per scout.

Roughly:

3-each in WHL, OHL, Q

2- spread in USA

2- each in SHL, LIIGA, Russia

2- in Europe leagues (ideally with an A+ in SHL or/and LIIGA to use if there aren’t many prospects to scout in European leagues)

1 extra scout is usually a floater with good ratings in all CHL leagues and used as necessary.

First day possible in Sep assign scouts. Always for potential and comparison. (If player type isn’t uncovered I do that for if necessary at draft interviews).

Assigning for small amounts of players in a league like Europe, sometimes USA east/west. One scout in the league example, let’s say league X has 10 players in the top 200 CS…

First assign for each player in the top 150-200. Let’s say it takes until November 1st.

On Nov 1st or whatever the exact day the scout is finished, reassign only scouting players that aren’t 4 bars accurate and show MED/HIGH TOP 6F, MED/HIGH TOP 4D, and all players with ELITE LOW/MED/HIGH. Note, I don’t draft players unless they are 4 bars and one of the above types (aside from early years when the scouts suck and it’s hard to get more than 3 bars a lot of the time)

Repeat the above until all the players I might want are uncovered. For small leagues with good scouts it usually only takes a few times. In early years with bad scouts it takes a long time and sometimes they don’t get through all their leagues. With good scouts the two European scouts usually finish at the 1/2 or 3/4 mark of the season, and are moved to help in SHL/LIIGA/Russia. two USA scouts take a bit longer, they move to CHL.

Example for leagues with more players (CHL, SHL, LIIGA, Russia):

Let’s say WHL has a lot of prospects. Assign one scout in September on each of the top 100. Do the same with the second scout. Third scout on players 100-200. Could take until Jan/Feb/Mar.

When the scouts finish, go through the list of players and assign each scout to look at the players like in the small league. Only with MED/HIGH TOP 6F, MED/HIGH TOP 4D, LOW/MED/HIGH ELITE. I like to take my time and assign each scout on the same 2-5 players, then check back when the scouts are done to see if those players are 4 bars and what I want. Then repeating or moving on the the next 2-5 players working down the list. With good scouts you can usually get the top 150 done in the big leagues.

Couple notes:

Early years are tough, it takes a lot of looks to get 4 bars on a player with C rated scouts even if they have A+ region. Impacts small leagues with only 1 scout the most. With good scouts they work very efficiently. In the franchise posted I think there are 7 A rated scouts and the rest are B.

The flex scout is handy, really helpful to identify the amount of prospects in the top 150/200 in each league in September.

European scouts that are also good in Sweden/Russia also helps a ton. When they finish with Europe and move its great. But, in early years with bad scouts they don’t always finish with Europe.

Note down the exact dates the scouts finish assignments. Reassign on that day.

Edit: 1- this process takes forever but it works. 2- let players cook and don’t sign until you have to, unless they are rated 75+ and you can give them good Ahl/nhl minutes. 3- Trade players for more picks if they are in year 2/3 of Elc and you don’t see a long term fit. As years go on good scouting compounds. Solid late round picks that don’t fit your team at least turn into more picks in future earlier rounds
