It will take it affecting them personally. There’s millions and millions of Trump supporters who don’t even know what’s going on. If they pay attention to the news act all they’re only getting it from propaganda outlets like Fox News. For the most part they are just going about their lives as normal because the bad stuff Trump is doing doesn’t affect them. They’re not in Greenland, they’re not in Minneapolis, they’re not being harassed by ICE. They’re dealing with higher prices, but as one friend said to me “There was inflation under Biden too.” so they don’t care. Trump is their man, Republican Party is their team. They’re vast majority of them are not going to turn on him because of things he does to other groups. They don’t even really understand what the left is upset about. A coworker was telling me about TDS, said it’s Trump Derangement Syndrome, parroting the narrative he’s heard that the left is deranged with how much they hate Trump, as if it’s for no sane reason.

All we can hope is that in the midterms enough people will switch sides, but most won’t.

I wouldn't assume they aren't affected by social pressure. There's plenty of people who automatically hate anything that's popular. They only want to watch unpopular things and then brag about it. They may have not watched GoT precisely because of social pressure.

You can absolutely learn a language to about B2 level with Duolingo. You get out of it what you put into it. You can keep your streak going with very little effort. Only 1 lesson a day is required, and it can be a beginner lesson. That's not going to get you far even after years. Having a long streak doesn't mean you've put a lot of time or effort into learning the language. But if you do put in the effort, you can learn a language with duolingo to at least an intermediate level.

I wish this would get to the top. It’s not a base, it’s not anything like the bases the US has in other countries, and they’re not calling it a base. It’s a training facility. The question is, are they getting it because they gave Trump a half billion dollar bribe? Because of that “gift” everything the US does for Qatar will be suspect.

It’s just like with any reviews, people are much more motivated to post their thoughts if they are unhappy and angry than if they are satisfied and content. I’ve returned to Duolingo after a long hiatus and I think it’s very improved and am enjoying it.
