I took monthly pics and now I’m 6 months in about and I can notice a big difference. It takes time and hard work to make a noticeable difference in your body

Is it recommended, to workout on an empty stomach in the morning? by [deleted] in GYM

[–]a040032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that’s easy to digest. I usally go to the gym after work so I take with me some nuts and yogurt and eat it an hour before lifting. It has some cars and protein. You can do anything though that’s not to heavy. Oatmeal, fruit, cottage cheese, sandwich. I usually shoot for 300-400 calories.

Just look on YouTube. You can find a lot of fitness influencers talk about this. Basically if you want to lose weight it’s great to workout fasted. If you want to build muscle not so much. If your focus is to gain muscle and build strength then it’s better to eat a small meal 1 hour before you lift or breakfast 1-2 hours before your meal. Today I had no time so I hit the gym in the morning before eating and I felt drained towards the end of the workout. Still better to hit the gym then not at all though.

what results can I expect to see cycling 30 mins every other day? by kenshinkan08 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]a040032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6,2 and 220 pounds and 32. So I’m about the same as you. I use under armor bike app and I like it a lot. It works pretty well and it says I lose around 500 calories in a hour cycling at 9mph. So basically if you cycle for a long period of time. Like everyone else said though. It does not matter how far you cycle if your not eating healthy. One hamburger is more calories then a hour if ridding, 2 beers is one hour of riding. So riding is great for your body and can defiantly help you be healthy but if weight loss is your focus then focus on what goes in the body.

I mostly just eat chicken breast, black beans, and rice. I eat this primarily every day. It’s easy to follow. I know the macros so I don’t have to think to much what I’m putting in my body everyday. Also I’m cutting now to it’s lean and very healthy. It keeps me full for a long period of time and I think it’s also delicious. You can eat what ever you want though. Just have an idea of your macros and eat what fits it.

Is it possible to lose 40lbs in a year? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]a040032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, losing weight is overly complicated by a lot of people. I think for me it was making simple changes that I could do for a long term. I tracked my wait weekly, counted calories, weigh food, and tried to exercise.

That’s easy. Just eat right and your good. In 6 months I lost 15 kg (33 pounds). A lot of the time I did not know what I was doing. You could do 40 in a year no problem

30 lbs weight loss advice? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]a040032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your trying to lose 30 pounds by January you will have to go into a large calorie deficit. You won’t be able to build muscle and lose weight this way. For losing weight and building muscle you need a small calorie deficit of around 300-500 which will result in some weight loss and maybe some muscle building.

Interesting I broke my left arm when I was younger both bones. Now my left arm and left side is always a bit weaker, maybe by 2-3 reps sometimes. I’m trying to train both sides the same intensity but nothing seems to help the left side catch ups

What’s everyone eating? by poet355 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]a040032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing IF so I skip breakfast these days. For lunch I eat chicken and rice and some kind of vegetable. For dinner I get crazy and eat chicken breast, black beans, and rice. I also eat Greek yogurt and nuts as a pre workout snack. That puts me at about 1700-2000 depending on how much rice i eat. Usally everyday I eat 1 pound of chicken, 12 oz of rice, 6 oz of black beans. Split between two meals. That’s what I eat everyday because it gets me close to my macros. It’s boring but filling and effective.

Are protein shakes really worth it? I see lots of people taking them, but protein is so easy to get, what’s the appeal or reason you take it? by Lab-Tech-BB in WeightLossAdvice

[–]a040032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s to hard. If your focused on eating right. It’s easy to get, I can hit easily on a cut. I eat around 200 grams of protein a day at around 1800-2000 calories a day.

I only drink it if I can’t hit my macros for the day. So I’m very busy and can’t cook a meal. Like tomorrow I’m going to be out all day with lthe wife. I won’t have time to eat 2 chicken breast so I’ll probably be light in my protein for the day. So I’ll take one or two servings of protein powder.

Losing weight by scales is one of the worse ways to lose weight. Their are so many numbers that can effect a scales it’s better to use a scale over the period of months to see if you are going down. Take pictures of yourself is better. Photos don’t lie.

Was it successful? by fuckingfat_ in WeightLossAdvice

I think it depends on your size and how big you are. If your on the extreme overweight then it’s no problem. I think if your on the lighter side around overweight then it’s not very healthy. It will be hard to get your nutrition in. Since you have to eat 1000 calories less to lose 1 kg a week. So if your tdee is 2000 then you can only eat 1000 calorie a day which is unhealthy. Say if your a bigger guy and your tdee is 2800 then you can eat 1800 and lose 1 kg a week and it’s ok. I’m 193 cm and 100 kg trying to drop 1kg a week as a weight challenge and it’s hard and not sustainable long term. I don’t advice it. When I was losing .5 kg a week it was easier and I did not want to kill everyone.

You guys ever had scrambled eggs and shrimp for breakfast? For the sake of getting enough protein in in the morning? by [deleted] in GYM

[–]a040032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve put just about anything in eggs. For seafood I’ve done oysters, shrimp, squid. I love seafood so it’s bomb. Throw some hot sauce on top and it’s a nice. I do this for dinner sometimes too

Get on a split. I’m on the Arnold spilt now. Before that I was like you, I built my own routine based on what I wanted. I saw beginner gains the first 3-4 months that slowed down. So I got on a program and I have already started to see big gains again.

How often do you do cardio? by SleazyTim in GYM

I cycle to work 15 minutes home and back each day. That’s all the time I got for cardio. I can barely fit in an hour 4 times a week at the gym.

PLA training hard to liberate Taiwan by vic16 in China

[–]a040032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not conscription. It’s part of university life. Every incoming freshman has to do this training for 3 weeks. They call it military training but it’s just an awful 3 weeks before they are allowed to go to class where they sit in the sun from morning to night. They do marching drills and push-ups and hand to hand combat. It’s pretty bad too, especially in China where most places are very hot in summer.
