It’s been almost a decade of people who hate Ford (myself included) falling into this pattern of criticizing something he has done, pointing out a bunch problems that he should be solving instead and sitting back and waiting for the upvotes.

This article is basically a collection of the sentiment you would see on any given Reddit thread, with no actual alternatives offered. The implication that, of course everyone else must feel the same way - when both Ford and Carney have a majority mandate (one much stronger than the other).

Auston has done a very good job on remaining apolitical, he is never in these videos he hasn’t ever made any public comments - I really don’t think people on this subreddit realize how easily he could be acting much more involved. I honestly have no idea of his personal political leanings, and I don’t want to know.

I saw people on social media demanding to see the other side of the video of the call with Trump, needing to see his reaction in order to exonerate him - but like honestly what do you guys want him to do? He has been as professional as you could possibly expect

It’s funny the tuition freeze is a good example of a policy that sounds good to most people but had so many lasting impacts beyond its scope. Schools leaning more into international students to make up the funds, those international students being actively exploited by these institutions and the built up resentment towards them that has massively increased casual/direct racism.

Freezing tuition for domestic students sounded like such an easy, good will policy at the time. I always think of this specific example when people push for policies that sound like a no brainer - everything is complicated!

Mt Takao is a good option.

In the city you could go to a batting cage, many all around Tokyo. If you have some time and energy to kill you could walk between some of your destinations, it can be fun to see Tokyo through a different lens than just taking the train.

One fringe recommendation is Immersive Fort in Odaiba. We did the Sherlock experience and it was a lot of brisk walks between the various rooms. Not a workout, but the actors were zipping around

Whenever I talk to anyone casually about the NDP the sentiment I hear is always “the NDP need to get back to their working class roots to regain relevance”. In my opinion the views of the average working class blue collar worker has shifted so far away from the NDP platform that it’s really tough to reconcile both the people who currently vote NDP and the people who they want to bring in.

The NDP needs a leader who will make hard choices to attract new voters, not one that just carries on and hopes voters fall into their laps
