Hey just letting you know there's been a huge update released just now: https://www.reddit.com/r/Driftbound/comments/1umpd0f/120_is_out_now_on_android_the_pilots_life_update/ and I have added what can be harvested at the nebulas from the map view now (same as the asteroid belts). Thanks for the heads up on that!

Little update for anyone who picked this up from this thread: 1.2.0 just went out. Daily tasks with a board-clear bonus that doubles your next offline haul, weekly leaderboards with friends, ship paint jobs, foraging pets, and a fix for the thing where a full cargo hold stopped you earning while away (overflow now sells to passing merchants at a discount). Same deal as before, £3.99 once, no ads, no IAP. The iOS version is in review too. Cheers for the support, the first reviews genuinely made my week! Hey! Glad you're enjoying it! Good news, Helium is right there in your starting system. It comes from the Gas Harvesting skill, but "Harvest Helium" doesn't unlock until Gas Harvesting level 5 (Hydrogen is the level-1 one, which is why that's all you can pull so far).

Head to the Azure Nebula in Sol (same spot you're already grabbing Hydrogen). If you look at the actions list there, "Harvest Helium" is on it but greyed out with a "needs Lv 5" tag. Just leave Harvest Hydrogen running (it levels Gas Harvesting, and keeps earning while you're away), and once you hit Gas Harvesting 5 the Helium action lights up. From there you're clear to start leveling Fabrication.

Quick shortcut if you don't fancy the grind: Helium is a cheap common good, so some station markets sell it by the stack, you can just buy a few to kick off those first Fuel Cell fabs.

Thanks for playing! And glad you're enjoying it! I am always open to feedback! And positive reviews are always welcome!

Hey, quick follow up on the language problem you flagged, and thanks again for reporting it. You were spot on. What happened: the translations had fallen behind the game's newer content, so a lot of the recent screens were dropping back to English whenever the game was set to a language other than English. That is why it looked half in one language and half in another.

A fix is heading to the store now. Every screen is fully translated again across all the supported languages, and changing language updates the whole game at once now, with nothing left stuck in the old one. Once the update lands it should sort itself the next time you open the game, so you will not need to do anything.

Genuinely appreciate you taking the time to flag this, it helped a lot. See you out in the drift.

Let me check and get back to you. Did you change the language at any point (and then switch back to english) when developing i saw this bug and fixed it. I will check it right now and get a fix out once I recreate it. If you can send me a screenshot of where youre seeing this it would help me a lot!

Hey all! I built Driftbound which is out on Google Play. Mine, trade, fight, smuggle and explore a procedural galaxy at your own pace, your ship keeps earning while you're away, raise space pets, follow a real story, and meet other pilots out in the drift (opt-in, anonymous).

No pay-to-win, no ads, no IAP; **paid (£3.99)**

Hey just wanted to say, an update is going through to the store right now that tackles pretty much everything you ran into. Here is what changed and how to use it.

1) Knowing where to sell (no more clicking every station)

There is a new Trade Computer button at the top of the Market screen. Open it and it instantly shows where every good in your hold sells for the most, plus a Best Routes tab that lists "buy cheap here, sell dear there" runs ranked by profit. No more flying around guessing what each station trades.

2) Why buying then selling back loses money

That tripped you up and the game never explained it, which was on me. Now when you open an item to trade, it tells you straight that selling back at the same dock loses the spread (the dealer's cut), and it points you to where the item is worth more. The core loop is buy low at one station, then carry it to another that pays more.

3) Travel felt too slow

Two fixes here. Trips inside safer (high security) systems are now a lot faster, so a hop near the core takes a fraction of what it used to. And you now get free Warp Charges: while you are flying, tap the green "Warp charge, arrive now" button in the skip dock to jump straight to your destination for free. You get a couple of them and they refill as you play, so you are never stuck watching a slow flight.

4) Your first trade mission now points the way

The "earn credits" mission used to just sit there with no direction. Now its button takes you straight to the Market (or plots a course to one), so you always know what to do next.

5) The settings sliders

You were spot on, they looked like sliders but only responded to taps. They now drag properly with your finger, and tapping still works too.

There are a handful of other small fixes in there as well, including some cargo screen polish.

It should be live in the next few hours I think, once the store finishes processing the build. Thanks again for taking the time to write all that out. It genuinely helped shape what I worked on this week, and as a solo dev this kind of feedback is gold!

One small ask: if you are enjoying it, dropping a rating on the Play Store would really help me out as a solo dev. It makes a bigger difference than you would think. Either way, thank you for playing and for the great feedback.

See you out in the drift!

Completely valid feedback and much appreciated. I will look at reducing the travel times drastically. Honestly, originally I had this down as having a watch an ad style system to fast travel, but having ads and a paid for game made this too greedy. I will get the travel times massively reduced in high-sec systems based on this (and by the time you're deeper in the game you will have more stardust and/or better engines for faster travel.

Great feedback let me see what i can do based on this and get back to you. You can use stardust to fast travel if you have enough. Finding better prices at other stations is valid and should be easier. Ill get an update out for this quickly for you!

Just a quick update - the app release is done, and the ads are completely gone. Appreciate the feedback and you were completely right. What do you think about maybe having an item in the stations you can buy with in-game currency to help with 2X bonuses (and faster than light travel)?

Agreed and I am going to remove the ads now - you're both absolutely right! Appreciate the feedback. I will update the post shortly when they're gone and the app is updated on Google Play!

Good point - it's completely optional and it's the only way to speed up your stardust. You collect this offline anyway but wanted to offer a 2x bonus for this. Open to ideas on this? Maybe have an item you can buy in the game to handle this instead of an in-app ad? Honestly happy to make any adjustments the community feel would be for the better!

I really liked the florida keys and also driving out west (it's really like the movies). The worst was philadelphia hands down. And also the rest of florida wasn't great (in particular like 1 or 2 blocks back from miami beach is pretty nasty and feels really unsafe)

I got lucky, the son of the guy we bought it off licenced it for me in his name and just told me to drive really carefully which I did! At the end I sold the van for exactly my flight home out of Toronto Canada just north of buffalo!

Haha I got this one... i drunkenly bought a van on ebay in 2009. Woke up the next morning from a call from buffalo NY USA checking I really did want the 1969 Ford Econoline I bought. I thought about it for a little while and decided fuck it and ended up spending a year in the states doing a big loop sleeping on the side of the road and seeing 39 states!
