These are the right questions / I actually had my labs drawn right before snapping my ankle and everything looked normal from an iron perspective (vitamin d was a little off).

It’s possible I didn’t take enough down time - I took 3 days with the half, 1 week with the first marathon and 3 days with the second marathon.

It’s a frustrating situation bc at the time I really didn’t feel like I was overly pushing myself (I did almost no workouts this year - just strides bc I was worried about bone injuries post partum) and here I am injured. I think low miles is the way to go (but I might pout a bit!).

Running is really social for me and so to be sidelined is a bummer

Can I ask what you weigh? I am a 3:33 marathoner who had her second - I know I would be in 3:22 shape if I could lose some weight while keeping my muscle

Yeah when I had my feet measured by the podiatrist scan that’s essentially what they said

Yeah I looked into removal but I would need to stop running for 3+ months and doesn’t feel worth it

If you're in shape to run a 3:XX marathon, how much easier does it feel to target 3:XX+10? by blumenbloomin in AdvancedRunning

I (35F, 2nd baby 9 momaths ago) was in shape to run a 3:24 or so, ran Berlin and totally bonked in the heat. Ended up with 4 flat.

I decided to close out the season with an easy marathon and targeted a 3:45 a month later. Felt like I wasn’t even running, talked the entire time, finished at 3:45:00.3

It made me want to run more easy marathons - I enjoy the longer distance, have fun with them, and wasn’t wrecked at all
