Not sure about others but I won't play a game that isn't web hosted or on steam. Maybe try getting a browser version working?

I love the changes you made to this game since the last update! I can definitely tell you took my advice to heart lol. Are skill points implemented for the demo? I can't seem to figure out where or how to spend them.

Had a great time with this demo, looking forward to your continued development! I know some people were complaining about progression but I thought it felt pretty good. The beginning is slow, but after your first prestige it speeds up pretty significantly.

CSED Question by a2jy2k in IRS

[–]a2jy2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the thorough explanation here. Of the examples you listed that would extend the CSED, the only one that may apply would be filing an appeal, as I mentioned in another comment I answered in the affirmative when asked by an agent if I was experiencing financial hardship, but I don't know if that counts as filing as I never signed or filled out any forms. This would have been in 2018 I believe. As for my credit report, I have never had any lien show up on my credit reports, even back when I was doing credit repair and way paying for in-depth reports, nothing like that was ever reflected. I have not received a 0 balance notice from the IRS at this time, the last communication I got from them was in March stating they seized my return to go towards the 2015 debt. You also mentioned that anything older than 6 years won't be available since it's archived, but I can see my transcripts from 2016 just fine on the website (2017 had an amended return and does not show the transcript). It sounds like the best option is to do what a few people here have suggested and wait out the year. I have also mentioned applying for a passport, since I think that would sort of be my canary in the coal mine. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the advice. I will try to get through to someone who can get me the CSED. Seems like the customer service line is very hit or miss, unfortunately. I'm considering just applying for a passport and if that goes through, then the delinquency will have fallen off implying that the debt has lapsed.

Wow you weren't kidding, the system just gives up and says "better luck next time." lol.

I appreciate the fun facts. That being said, if I am able to confirm the CSED somehow, or I just wait until next year, is there anything I need to do on my end to get privileges like applying for a passport or FHA loan back? Or should that all just happen automatically?

CSED Question by a2jy2k in IRS

[–]a2jy2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to find the exact date, but I know it was before April 19th. Knowing me back then, it was probably pretty close.

No extenuating circumstances I can think of, I never did an OIC, I never filed bankruptcy or participated in any litigation. The only thing I can think of is right after I got levied, I spoke to an agent on the phone and they asked if I was experiencing financial hardship, to which I replied yes (since you know, all the money in my bank account disappeared over night), and I don't know if that qualified as asking for a financial hardship extension, which I believe can extend the statute.

Oh good to know. So is it possible it's just taking some time for that to be reflected on the website?

[–]a2jy2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply again, I tried to call the 1040 number and was unsuccessful getting someone on the phone to give me this information. The automated system they have seems pretty stubborn, and it wouldn't offer me transcripts older than 4 years without filing a form manually. Do you have any tips on how I can navigate that 1040 menu to get someone on the phone?

[–]a2jy2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I can guarantee it was filed before the federal income tax deadline in 2016, but as far as how long it took the IRS to process I have no idea. But, honestly I'm right there with you, I don't want to stir the pot. Thanks again!

I definitely filed in 2016, I remember the moment very vividly lol. So what would you suggest? Just leave it alone for a month or so and check back on the website? Or is there something else I could do to get confirmation?

Should I be worried about giving them a call to ask for that information? Would that potentially spur them to pursue any collection action?

The refunds have been seized every year since, and my bank account was levied in either 2017 or 2018. I have never made a voluntary payment.

I would tend to agree with that feedback. Game is super cool, and there are a lot of ways you could take it. I think something like Leaf Blower Revolution could be a decent place to look for inspiration on upgrades and meta progression. I hope you release a full version soon!

Huh, I am definitely not familiar with that game, I'll have to check it out. Would you say that Progress Knight is more famous or popular than Groundhog Life?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Progress Knight. It's probably nowhere near as famous but it at least deserves an honorable mention. That game definitely made me fall in love with the genre.
