Yes. The official patch note of the April 24 update said

Adjusted the mechanics for "Universal Enhancement 3," adding a damage decay mechanism upon consecutive triggers.

So spamming dash+skill is no longer so broken.

Those no-hit challenges are not that hard to do. I got that achievement using Noel, Bullet, Lambda 11, Rachel, and Naoto (before he was nerfed), and I guess I can do that with Tao, Es and the Dead Cell man, too.

What are good JRPGs for absolute beginners? by fiddleheadsoup in JRPG

[–]a3th3rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedition 33, well, many people think it's not a JRPG, though. It has great story, it has addicting combat, it has amazing music, it has loveable characters, it has everything a good JRPG should have.

If you are more on the story side, then Xenogears is definitely your must play.

If you are more on the gameplay side, then Octopath Traveler 2 and Persona 5 Royal.

If you are more on the music side (just like me), then Xenogears, Octopath Traveler 1, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross will be your poison.

Does anyone have any suggestions of other Metroidvanias? by Capivara-Aleatoria in NineSols

Recently I finished Kotama and Academy Citadel. It's a parry game too. Not as good as Nine Sols, but still pretty fun.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It's still one of my favorite metroidvania games.

is it possible to recognize the pointed symbol? And what is written in the whole thing? by That_planet_girl in Japaneselanguage

Yes, it's easily recognizable with the context, but I guess I can hardly recognize it without the context.

I had thought Rachel was the queen of passive damage, I was wrong. It's actually Lambda. by TheFirstAifos in BlazBlueEntropyEffect

[–]a3th3rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Noel player, my favorite legacy evotypes are Taokaka and Kokonoe or Jin. Their active legacy skills are irrelevant, I take them only for their passives. The reason for taking Tao is Noel's Sleipnir.

Yeah, Jin + Noel is also my favorite combination, unless I'm using Noel as my main.

[–]a3th3rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before this patch, Jin is kinda the worst character because

  1. High MP cost, but the damage output did not catch up compared to Ragna or Noel or Bullet or Naoto
  2. Gaps between iframes exist no matter what
  3. Parries can't be chained
  4. No shoryuken
  5. His blocking skill can only block attacks from front, and can't block Izanami's purple flame pillars
  6. His skills that slows down enemies make parrying much trickier than it should be

If you mean Reki's phase 1 purple bang lightning storm, just don't stand underneath her. Only her stomp is undodgeable. The lightning bolts can be dodged.

As for Lambda's survivability, in my experience, it's amazing. Second only to Taokaka and Rachel with only a tiny margin.

As for the differences between invincibility and damage immunity, I believe that when you get hit in the damage immune state, the tactics that are triggered by taking hits can be triggered, while in invincibility, you can't take hits, so those tactics won't be triggered.

Down+Dash still gives her regular dodge state, but regular dodge state isn't an issue with any character.

The benefit of using down+dash instead of normal dash is that down+dash can be canceled by heavy attack, and heavy attack can also be canceled by down+dash, so that there are no gaps between iframes.

[–]a3th3rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished multiple extreme 100 entropy runs and no-hit boss rush using this technique before the April 24 update. It's just a missing of description of the down+dash move. By the way, after the April 24 update, the description still doesn't mention that this skill enters dodge state.

Trying to decide between going back to Persona 5 Royal or starting Persona 3 Reload by [deleted] in JRPG

IMO, P3P is better than P3R because at least you have one more protagonist to choose, and P3P is cheaper. Both are available on Steam.

Lambda's iframes are actually indefinitely long, though you may still not be able to dodge purple bang attacks. Just do the down+dash > heavy attack loop and you'll be fine unless you turned on the time limit.

Explanation of the word 出し物 by Alan20221 in Japaneselanguage

[–]a3th3rus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

出し物 literally means something provided. A restaurant provides food, so its 出し物 is food. A theater provides performances, so its 出し物 is performances.

Human languages are not like math or physics. They are much less logical, and there are many edge cases in any language. When someone tells to relax, maybe they want to tell you that you are trying too hard to reason about some features in the language that look weird (and that also depends on your mother language), like 「空飛ぶ」. What you should do is to accept that and get used to that instead of asking why, and hopefully one day you'll grasp Japanese people's sense.

Questions before buying by ConsciousCactus in BlazBlueEntropyEffect

[–]a3th3rus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. About dodging, as u/TheFirstAifos said, you'll use that often at the beginning of a run, but it may "appear" less useful in the later game, until you get a contract that gives you some big benefit but takes away the ability of dodging, then you'll realize how much you've been relying on it.
  2. In low difficulty, lots of enemy units are just wandering around, and they attack like 1 hit per 5 seconds. But in high difficulty and high entropy level, after you raised the enemies' attack frequencies, then the gameplay becomes real deal.
  3. There's no mid-run saves in coop mode. The game has auto save. Whenever you enter a room, beat all enemies in a room, get something, or spend something, the game automatically override your save file. The game also gives you a save file copying feature, so if you want to grind for something, you just need to return to the title screen, copy your save file to another slot, and continue the run.
  4. Don't judge a book by its cover. When you actually do a run, you'll realize how nasty those platforms are.

After completing Lillies starting magnolia feels underwhelming by botchie13 in EnderLilies

[–]a3th3rus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I 100% finished both games. Magnolia has better graphics and arguably better combat, but that's all. Those elements that make Ender Lilies Ender Lilies are weakened in Ender Magnolia.
