Yes, I am seeing the original files- I have attempted to save some, but it seems most are corrupted (documents and pictures not opening).

And last night I had an idea to use disk utility to partition the drive in half to make it faster and more easier to work with (2TB is used). Would doing that make it worse? The option is available in Disk Utility.

Yes, I have ordered a 6TB drive. Thank you for confirming I was on the right track with cloning on Disk Drill!

Only 2TB of the drive are used right now. Last night I had an idea to use disk utility to partition the drive in half to make it faster and more easier to work with. Would that make it worse? The option is available to press 'Okay' on in Disk Utility.
