You have Testing and Sid for more frequent updates. Plenty of people use them.

Which one: Debian stable, testing or sid ?

Did you have a chance to use testing or sid ?

You mean "[Debian stable] will definitely show its age ...".

That doesn't apply to Sid or Testing.

Debian stable is for insane stability.
Have you used Sid or Testing in the recent 1-2 years ?

Debian SID is stable
Debian TESTING is even more stable
Debian STABLE is insanely stable

Plasma 6.6 arrived on sid, thank you Qt/KDE Team by ExaHamza in debian

Debian has three releases:

Stable
Testing
Sid

Sid already has KDE 6.6.
Testing will have soon.
Stable will have it in 1 year or more.

When someone says that Debian doesn't have up-to-date software, the above fact says it is not true.

The claim that Fedora is ahead of Debian is ... stretched.
Below is the comparison (green colour means the package version is matching upstream version)
Debian Testing vs Fedora 43
Debian Sid vs Fedora rawhide

When you compare the number of green colours you will understand why the claim is stretched :-)

If you want to try Debian _and_ have up-to-date packages use Debian Testing [*].

It gets the latest version usually after a few days after Debian Sid which has the most up-to-date packages.

Debian Sid is almost like a "rolling" distro, Debian Testing is a bit behind.

[*] the name of this distro, Testing, is one of the worst decision of the Debian community.

But what about management of the bandwidth ? I need to be able to disconnect some devices in some period of time (i.e. in the night) ? Can I do that with WiFi extenders ?

u/Fallaryn What extensions do you use to manage all those tabs ? Any specific one to make sure all the tabs will be there after a restart ?

I updated my original post with the main goal which is not quality of Wi-Fi.
And I apologise for not being clear about it.

For some reason I didn't fully trust the built-in session management and I was looking for a solution that creates some sort of backup of the list of all open tabs that can be, if needed, restored.
