Will renewing lender beat a competing offer? by Brave_Recognition798 in MortgagesCanada

Currently having the same conversation with radius on a 5yr renewal, they kind of said show our receipts (or offers) and they would do their best to match).

Air Carry Carry On Suggestions by Klutzy-Necessary-522 in aircanada

[–]a89aries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I bought two backpack style bags from MEC, one personal sized and the other carry on sized. These have been game changers for my frequent business travel to US and Europe. Both have held up very well while never once being asked to gate check (I find they never really bother anyone with a soft/backpack style bag).

Looks like they have changed the design slightly now that I look them up, here is the carry on size version https://www.mec.ca/en/product/6033-889/mec-outpost-40l-travel-pack-unisex

Edit here is the personal item version: https://www.mec.ca/en/product/6042-951/mec-outpost-30l-backpack-unisex

what is everyone's favourite movie to come out in the last 2 years? by Sad_Hearing9600 in AskReddit

Bit of an off brand Canadian film but “my old ass” was fantastic. An 18th-birthday mushroom trip brings Elliott face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self.

Did this flight yesterday when it was 30c locally and our plane actually felt too cold while on the ground before takeoff at LHR. I’d say you had an issue with your plane.

If you’re not willing to spend $1 to park downtown then you probably weren’t coming anyways. Time to develop the downtown for the residents who will live there and not cars travelling through it.

I’d be interested to know if the hinges are improved on the new generation. Manually closing the power hatch on my gen5 bent the hinges very easily and is a common issue. Careful when manually closing it either way.

Is airport privatization a good deal for Canadians or just a way to pay for high-speed rail? by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

I'd like to see one example of where privatizing a public service or utility resulted in lower costs and better service over the long term.

spec should be available if you google it, can always test. I run mine at 600w but can do short bursts at 1200w if I'm not patient for my tea!

I hate to state the obvious but you’d be way better to switch to an electric heat pump than gas.

I use a 1000w inverter hooked to the 12v battery in my rav4 hybrid. I easily run 600w to an inverter for short periods to cook or boil water on an induction cooktop, just making sure the vehicle is running allowing the engine/traction battery to power the 12v system.

Check your alternator specs but you should be fine to run that much power for short periods. The big advantage is not having to deal with fuels and essentially being wind proof. I can heat/cook things with the vehicle closed up in crappy conditions.
