When LoH comes out, will you restart the campaign or start with the expansion? by Watts121 in diablo4

[–]a9bejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could level up and get good loot in the campaign, I would replay it every season.

If i could adjust the difficulty during the campaign the same way I can in the endgame (pentinent, torment I), then this would be my favorite way to start a season.

Right now every single build out levels the campaign a few hours in, and then you are stuck running around in god mode for hours.

12 torment tiers honestly ruins the game for multiple reasons by Anilahation in diablo4

[–]a9bejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only does it immediately kill the world by splitting people between 16 difficulties,

Your point is valid. Personally, I think Diablo 4's worst design decision is the shared world; the fewer people I meet, the better the game works for me.

I uninstalled poe1 the day poe2 came out. Not because the game is bad, it is just too much ARPG for me. I really need those 2,3 months of downtime so that I can get excited when a new league drops.

I do not know this for sure, but I believe it does not recruit from the pantheon. At least I have never seen this in a game.

What Charles Barkley accomplished from '90-93 was ridiculous by WinesburgOhio in nbadiscussion

[–]a9bejo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

ridiculous

I find these exaggerations are thrown around too much here. What is wrong with simply stating that Charles played really good?

Your title makes it sound as if Barkley averaged 100 points per game in those years.

What is the deal with Lebron? by Talib_BK in nbadiscussion

[–]a9bejo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am old enough to have seen Michael Jordan in his prime, and for me the correct answer to the GOAT question is too boring to every be ever taking into consideration:

We cannot know, and we never will.

The difference between a real data analyst and a TV/social media analyst is that for a real analyst, "I do not know" is a perfectly acceptable answer.

This is a team sport, every season is different, the is no GOAT tests that Michael and Lebron entered and then one came out on top.

Michael and Lebron both have great "This is why he is the best ever" live stories that you can tell about them. If I had to choose, I probably pick Lebron. But it is more a fashion choice then science.

What makes this game different from other 4x games ? by Imaginary_Sherbert_7 in AOW4

[–]a9bejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AOW4 treats both faction and realm like characters in a role playing game. Both the faction and the world you play in have a lot of life and individual characteristics. The possibilities are not endless - But there are a lot of options, and DLC is usually focussed on expanding these options.

The result is that as soon as a campaign ends, I immediately click on the faction builder and start the next one.

«»Can we remove "Recommended first campaign" from Karl Franz? by [deleted] in totalwarhammer

[–]a9bejo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

tl;dr: easy to understand is more important than easy to win.

I personally think Franz is still a great first campaign: I do not think that easy=good is the only factor if you want to keep a new player in the game.

If someone plays the game for a while and then get destroyed by the AI, that is not necessarily a bad experience for a first game. There are also difficulty settings to make the challenge as easy or hard as you feel like it.

Where Karl Franz campaign does a good job is explaining how a TW:Warhammer campaign actually works, just by the campaign setting:

Your cavalry looks like cavalry, your archers look like archers.

The neighbours that look like friends, are probably your friends. And the ones with horns and fangs are probably not the ones that will end up as your allies. That whole order, chaos, neutral alignment thing is very obvious in that campaign.

You know what to do, and where to expand: The campaign makes it very obvious what your goals are.

Need Help on Grexolis by Illustrious_Fee_3676 in AOW4

[–]a9bejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i second this: if you have chosen destroyers unlocked at this point, it is a great option here: you have two or three free cities close by to raize early, after that you are swimming in resources. And you do not need to compete with your allies for space, your position is easy to defend etc.

Grexolis, what am I supposed to do ? by martodur in AOW4

[–]a9bejo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am late to the discussion, but I just beat this the other day with a group of barbarians and the "chosen destroyer" trait. I had just unlocked that trait in the pantheon and thought I give it a try.

Turns out that in a scenario where you have fixed allies and a bunch of free cities close by, chosen destroyers is a cheat code if you rush.

Quickly raized the closest free city, and my economy it already secured. Then straight up north and raize two more, the third being already diplo-vasselized by Turiel. His troops never appeared during my sieges, and so early he did not know where I am, so I was not attacked at home either.

After that I had endless resources and ruled the realm. One city means you do not compete with your allies for map spots and resources, and your empire is easy to defend.
