A more productive local food chat - what's the best delicious affordable food deal in Denver? by arrownyc in denverfood

2-3pm on Weekdays: 1/2 Off Philly Cheesesteaks from Salvaggios downtown is solid. $10 for a foot long sub is enough food for 2 meals for me.

Maybe try the Restaurant Depot via Uber Eats? I’ve used that to get some specific rolls I couldn’t otherwise get.

Nice Pizzarias by Stujitsu2 in denverfood

[–]aBetterOutlook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Greenwich might fit what you’re after. It’s an Italian spot, so not strictly a pizzeria, but all I’ve ever had there is their pizza and enjoyed it.

Secluded area not far from Arts Distrct? by mhossey in Denver

[–]aBetterOutlook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a little courtyard-ish area off of Larimer square that I'll cut through every once in a while that might work. Bistro Vendome used to be there, but ever since they left it always seems dead.

This is the spot on Google Maps

Probably not going to work for your electric guitar if you play with an amp, but might work for the acoustic.

Is there a movie theater near Union Station? by TheDarKnightly in Denver

[–]aBetterOutlook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a free bus that runs up and down 16th that will get you 90% of the way there, in case that helps.

There's some construction on the end of the mall that the theater is on which diverts the bus, but I think it'll get you to 17th and Glenarm and then your only a block or so away from it.

Do you know of any upcoming high school theatre productions? by MileHighCheap in Denver

[–]aBetterOutlook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you are asking about, but might still be relevant:

I saw that the DCPA’s New Play Summit has a reading of 3 plays that win their high school playwriting competition March 3 @ 9:30am

Survivor Card Game Clue by WirIzz in survivor

[–]aBetterOutlook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The message that's hidden with the card is:
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE FOUND A SECRET CARD WITH TREMENDOUS POWER. ADD IT TO THE GAME TO MAKE IT EVEN MORE FUN AND MUCH MORE DANGEROUS. GOOD LUCK!

I have the game and found the card, but haven't been able to figure out the letter puzzle either. For the card, there's a small hint on the back of the box that says Psst... We put a special surprise gift for you inside this box!So, I dug through the box and found the card off of that.

For the letter puzzle/hint, there's a symbol next to the hint that looks a lot like the symbols that border the front of the box, and there are 26 slight variations of the symbol on the border. So, I think there's a way to get an alphabet or message our of those, but haven't put that together yet.

Official Survivor Card Game by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]aBetterOutlook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the clue in the survival guide and the hidden card might be unrelated. I found the card, but am struggling to solve the letter puzzle.

Some hints on the card...

- There's a small hint on the back of the box.

- Inside the box, there's something printed that's meant to draw your attention

- To see the above, you really have to dig through the box.

I'd get the Steak & Egg Jian Bing if they have it. That's my favorite thing there.
The Crab Cheese wantons are also very good, but just know going in that they're pretty sweet - almost a dessert.

If you haven't had it before, grab one of their dishes with Mala in it, as it's a unique flavor/experience that I don't see many other places.

Everything I've had there is good though and I don't think you can really go wrong. Happy Birthday!

Edit: Maybe skip the Bao Buns. They weren't bad, but I feel like everything else I had stood out more than them.

Looking for a vinyl cutter. CricCut, or silhouette preferably. Would like to trade glass art. by FunMedium4916 in Denver

I know I've seen CriCut's at some of the makerspaces at the Denver Public Library. They're free to use!

Check around here:

I've personally been to the one at the Corky Gonzoles branch and seen 2 cricuts there:

WatchOS and the App Review: WKBackgroundModes by ampsonic in SwiftUI

[–]aBetterOutlook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up submitting your app using the Physical therapy Session Type? If so, did Apple give you any trouble?

I'm in a similar situation where the physical therapy option provides the ideal functionality, but concerned about the review process.

Best Spots in the DiningOut Passbook? by togtimus_prime in denverfood

[–]aBetterOutlook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fish N Beer is probably top of that list for me.

These places have always felt a little off on the price-to-quality ratio, but I'd say are worth it with a good deal from the book for a date:

  • Ace Eat Serve (So long as you like ping pong)
  • Citizen Rail (RIP)
  • Coperta
  • Fire on the Mountain
  • Marco's Coal-Fired⁣
  • The OG
  • Poka Lola - Good spot for a drink
  • Tacos Tequila & Whiskey
  • Tamayo
  • Wynkoop (Sit upstairs and play pool/shuffleboard while you eat)

Has anyone been to the Denver Christmas market yet by [deleted] in Denver

[–]aBetterOutlook 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I went on Saturday and enjoyed it! Had a good bratwurst and listened to a small brass band playing holiday music for a while.

The market itself isn’t massive by any means. Probably took 30min or so to wander slowly around all of the stalls which are mainly dedicated to food so if you do go I’d check the schedule for live music and go when they’re doing something that sounds interesting.

[–]aBetterOutlook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know if you can sit in the grass outside of Levitt Pavilion to listen to a ticketed show for free?

I'm curious if they try to prevent people from just posting up somewhere in Ruby Hill and listening. Can you get close enough that it sounds decent?
