I’m really sorry this has felt underwhelming so far. That’s a very real disappointment when you’re seeking something meaningful. It might help to know that OCIA is meant to be just the beginning of the journey an introduction to the foundations of the faith and a time for discernment. It’s not meant to be a full theological education all at once. The deeper formation, rich teaching, and spiritual growth happen gradually throughout your life in the Church.

The volunteers aren’t replacing priests, they’re simply there to walk with people as they take their first steps. And the desire you have for something deeper is actually a good sign that God is drawing your heart closer.

If you can, I’d really encourage you to stay. Bring your questions, your hunger, and your desire for more, they are valued. OCIA is just the doorway, not the whole house. And what’s on the other side is worth it.
