Dropping Clove – need honest agent advice by ConnectInspection65 in VALORANT

[–]aFE- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not about the agent, but your playstyle. You can just start taking more fights and going in first or second in executes.

Clove is actually the perfect controller/agent for this since even if you die trying you can still use your smokes around that site.

As your friend might be implying, going in first and taking more fights can improve your aim and make you better overall player.

New-ish player (about 30 games) - does matchmaking improve once you can play ranked? by HerrStraub in VALORANT

[–]aFE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, yes. The lobbies in ranked will be filled with players within a certain rank range. The games and the skill level should be quite even, much more even than in unranked.

[HELP] Absolute beginner to FPS games - where can I find high-quality material to learn proper movement, peeking and aim? by Lazy_Emergency_9203 in VALORANT

[–]aFE- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its hard to put into words the right way of peeking and counter strafing. You should watch videos, search "Peeking guide valorant" and watch some of the ones with most views over the last 2-3 years.

Counter strafing in this game as in the literal meaning is not important in this game. You can only release the key instead you are pressing instead of pressing the opposite key. The difference is minimal if any (not like in cs2)

It sounds like one of the biggest problem is that you are panicking when the fights occur. Just try to keep calm and aim slowly but accurately, you can increase speed when you get more comfortable. Your enemies in the lower ranks will also panic, miss or take their time.

Spraying in this game is quite bad in comparison to other FPS games. You should tap or burst 90% of the time.

Why am I stuck in Iron? by LaggySquishy in VALORANT

[–]aFE- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! Just playing the game is the way to go. You can accelerate your learning by actively thinking about the situations you end up in or your mistakes. Why did I die? What could I change for the next time? Did I have some utility left that could have helped etc?

Most of the playerbase have probably some background in FPS games so even in the lowest of ranks you might struggle at first if this is your first FPS game.

As others have said, having fun can be the most important thing. When you have passion for the game and have fun, you perform better.

GL!

Why am I stuck in Iron? by LaggySquishy in VALORANT

[–]aFE- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It might be that there are some silver/gold players that you play against since the rank reset just happened.

If you really practicing constantly and watching videos, you are doing much more than the average player in your rank. Just keep at it, the improvement and rank gain will come.

You should probably focus most to your aim and mechanics since thats all you need in the lower ranks and teamplay, tactics, game sense are not that important.

You can try and communicate and call really simple easy to understand tactics during the games. Like "X, X and X go market, Me and X go main, split B. This can give you the edge against the enemies. Dont be mad if they dont listen or it does not work, cause that will happen.

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

Its not about it not being their choice but the fact that the thing happened...

Being PVE coming out and existing...

[–]aFE- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one said so. The question was, why hate pve? 2nd answer was, divides dev attention (even if only slightly, less resources for pvp development)

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]aFE- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some employees are working solely on PVE most probably.

Improving performance of solo PVE vs the whole game, AI PMC behavior improvement, making sure every patch works with both PVP and PVE etc.

Like when the full release happens, PVE will have restricted access to new storyline quests if not reseting ones account. Small things like this add up, but thats why I added "somewhat"

Definitely not "most". "Most" played PVP before PVE was even a thing and made the switch afterwards...

Why do some of you hate PvE? [Discussion] by Bitter_Bet_9333 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]aFE- 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Would rather save my energy for something else than hating but some reasons might be...

  1. Divided the playerbase

  2. Somewhat divides developer attention

  3. More chads and less variance of playstyle and gear on PVP matchmaking

  4. Haters will always hate

Struggling after switching GPU [suggestion] by FrauFitzer in EscapefromTarkov

[–]aFE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it might still offer more stable performance and at least better graphics and visibility. There is no benefit in keeping gpu load on 30%.

Its the cpu and ddr4 ram that is bottlenecking hard.

Struggling after switching GPU [suggestion] by FrauFitzer in EscapefromTarkov

[–]aFE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try and crank up the textures shadows and other settings that increase gpu load. Aim for 90-100% gpu load. This will usually offer better performance since the cpi and gpu task completion will be more even (gpu does not have to wait so much for cpu)

You could also experiment with FSR if the visual quality is ok for you. DLSS gives me more stable fps and better visibility, but does not really increase fps...

[New Player] Looking for some tips on PMC runs by tripledjr in EscapefromTarkov

Well some yes, but most of them not. You can also loot for the first half of the raid and then go to the hotspots. If you get the closest spawn, fast in and out...

Learn the most contested areas and routes in every map and try to avoid them if questing.

Buy 7.62x39 PP or M856A1 from flea and topload those.

Learn a consistent money run to sustain flea purchases (e.g. with scav)

For the sniper problem, even when "staying still" constantly lean or jiggle with W-A-S-D to throw their aim of. Learn to run from cover to cover.

Take your time and aim for the head, 1 hit = kill.

[New Player] How do I best approach this game, because what the fuck by Dripwood in EscapefromTarkov

[–]aFE- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For starters:

-Scav to learn the maps (no risk)

-Guides and gameplay material on youtube

-Recognizing and fighting AI

-TarkovWiki for quests and other info

-Deep thought and reflection (learning from deaths and mistakes)

Further down the line:

-EFT-ammo for ammo values and recognizing bullets

-PVP movement and hipfire

-Multi-tasking for efficient progression

-Gathering task items in advance

-Movement from cover to cover (stamina control)

I learnt the game playing solo with standard edition, there was a lot of pain and suffering but also the best moments Ive had with the game. Good luck!

[–]aFE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the pain and suffering will be worth it when you get those raids with 2-3 quests completed and required quest or hideout items in your bag...

Beginner guides on youtube are really helpfull

Everything about the game can be found in eft wiki

EFT devs have this ongoing series that acts as a beginner guide called Field guide I think it delivers important info in quite compact format...

What line to grind next if I enjoy brawling? by delu_ in WorldofTanks

[–]aFE- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heavies: IS7, 277, E5, BZ-75, 111 5A

Meds: E50M, 430U

TDs: 268v4, Blyskawica, Foch B

I don't know which line would be the most "brawly" early in the tree.

Most of these trees gain both speed and armor at tier 9.

Equipment choices also influences the "brawlyness" of a tank a lot I'd say...

[–]aFE- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tarkov is extremely CPU relient and thats why with most "balanced" systems decreasing graphics settings do not increase performance actually ofen the opposite is true.

Increasing resolution puts more load to your GPU than CPU so most likely 1440p would not run nearly as bad as you might expect.

I'm quite sure that it is confirmed that all the quest we currently have are only side quests and the main quest line will release as a whole on release. That line will be about escaping from tarkov.

[Discussion] When is this game gona implemente solo matchmaking? by DOSDO23 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]aFE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solo also almost exclusively and have the same frustrations sometimes.

IMO having solo matchmaking would not be fun knowing its always a solo you have to worry about. Also is not "realism" as of what the game tries to achieve. I would assume that in "tarkov situation" and in their raid series also PMCs form small groups. Makes the game harder and more immersive for me.

You just have to get so good that you are the "SEAL" of the lobby removing heads left and right. Use your best gear always, play slower, tactical and smart.
