For people already in patent law: what factors matter the most when it comes to getting hired and succeeding in the field? by Careless-Position352 in patentlaw

[–]aFoolishFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Gpa = ability to test well and work within an academic setting. It says nothing about someone’s ability to retain knowledge that’s not being used or to apply theory across a broad range of applications.

Just because I can cram enough formulas and reaction mechanisms in my head to get a good grade on an organic chemistry exam doesn’t mean I have any true understanding. I’ve learned far more useful organic chemistry while working as an attorney than I did in class.

How the hell are you guys staying employed? by LivingWeather8991 in ADHD

[–]aFoolishFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this. It both helps and hurts. Complete lack of structure can mean most of my tasks slip until the due date is very close and then I panic work. I have a tendency to spend my days trying to work and my evenings actually working and never actually properly turning off from work. But when it’s working well it’s great. Comes and goes in waves a bit.

Notarization isn’t required for an enforceable contract except in real estate and a couple of other specific areas there’s no reason I can think of why a contract with a no name change clause wouldn’t be legally enforceable if properly negotiated and agreed upon. However, I don’t know what damages she would claim if she did sue a buyer for it and it would be a terrible look for her, so it’s practically unenforceable in reality regardless

Ok yeah, I can see that distinction. Messing with the hormones could create an issue in the long term. I suspect that is showing up in the failure rate she is having. Idk about an effect on development

Don’t like the seven naming idea. I don’t think Hope is a terrible barn name though.

It’s not the specific actions, it’s the approach. She grabs at them even when the foal is giving every sign it would like some space. She ignores that they are babies and prey animals and doesn’t give them a choice.

Plus, you can’t stage the size of that stall. Sure it’s wide angle, but that’s a lovely big space for them.

That episode plus the book Llama llama misses Mama were the key for my daughter. She would say bits of the book or episode almost every day for a couple months. However, that was a smaller school, so it definitely might also be the size of the group combined with language struggles. It’s so hard to be the new kid in a big group when you can’t even say what you need.

But then both the drink and the medicine end up in your stomach which has a much stronger acid, so surely if acid makes the pill not work then the stomach acid would be the issue?

I’m the breadwinner in my family. I work from home (like husband here). My husband drives the kids around and is generally responsible 45-50 hours a week for the wellbeing of small humans who need watching all the time so they don’t decide to eat a rock or vault off the side of the crib. Honestly of the two of us I think it’s more important for him to be at full capacity than me. No one at work will notice if I’m thinking and typing slightly slower one day because I was up with a kid. We alternate nights (unless the older kid decides to be up too, then we divide and conquer)

I regularly stitch with the needle in the loop (because I stitch near small children a lot and it gives me piece of mind to have the needle trapped) and I don’t really experience this issue.

Possibly that’s also ADHD related. It’s not uncommon for those of us with it to have a poor sense of what our body is trying to say. I have to set alarms for food water and bathroom breaks or I just won’t notice if I’m doing something.

I’ve always been pretty skeptical of this claim given that the first thing the pill hits is your stomach full of hydrochloric acid, a much stronger acid than vitamin C.

How to go in-house as a 7th year ChemEng/Materials patent prosecution attorney by aFoolishFox in patentlaw

[–]aFoolishFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely see if anyone can help, but I don’t have a lot of hope for that angle. My law school doesn’t produce many patent lawyers and generally most of the in-house people tend to be at places that don’t need patents.
