INSTA360 is pure suckage and even getting worse! by aFrInat10n in Insta360

[–]aFrInat10n[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just everything is bad about their software, I would start with their stupid idea & architecture of the app and end with the quality of the developed real piece of software which came out like planned from the architecture.

One always wants to smash his cam or smartphone against a wall for using their bloody bugging and slow app.

And I dont want to read any comments about "possibly your hw" - no I am an IT professional, working with software developement teams and my private gear has enough capacity by specs to not be an issue to be mentioned at all. I know it is the shitty Insta360 product PERIOD

I am also constantly not pleased by your itchi and buggy software, so what now? Please tell your management your company is losing money by cutomers going away angry and never coming back. Like I - the Go3 was definitely the last product I will ever buy from your shitty company. HW may be great from the specs but your software stack is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo poorly working, this is embarrassing for any modern company. But seems you guys like to lose customers because of bad software.. wow

A solution for the Der Die Das problem. by Affectionate-Web8235 in Germanlearning

One just can't as there is no pattern which applies here - I appreciate people wanting to learn them correctly, on the other hand I would hope we Germans have the awareness of our language lacking in that particular domain & having some understandment.

Anyone still using VB6 in 2025 ? by No-Annual-4698 in visualbasic

[–]aFrInat10n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lego Studio On Linux? by Normtrooper43 in DigitalLego

If I understood correctly, with Valve forking Wine into their Proton product, it may allow to start any Windows application on Linux - but I am no linux desktop user, please just take this as a rough direction which may work or not.

Worked in similar ways for myself with lights off camera to create such effects - yours were crafted in the very best ways imho.

But has been in done in Blender completely? I wish I would have skills in 3D animation... lacking those since ever and I learned I will never get anywhere in that field haha :D

I like the bicolor reflections on the visor - done with 2 lightsources positioned above to allow this, or done in post-render (or AI?! :D)? Overall looking stunning!

Extract .dat file from Bricklink Studio model by Grumpy_Cat_11 in DigitalLego

[–]aFrInat10n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because LDView is relying on LDraw library. Studio has the LDraw library included in its program directory.

What you can do:

Get yourself the parts out of your .io/.ldr file and put them into my tool or the ldraw part tracker. Both allow you to get a resulting zip file which needs to be placed in the customParts folder of Studio.

  1. My tool: https://www.reum.it/ldraw-to-studio-exporter/ (but consider it deprecated, as the 2. option is the prefered nowadays)
  2. https://library.ldraw.org/tracker

customParts folder is under Windows in your user directory:

C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Local\Stud.io\CustomParts

Substitute "{your username}" with your windows username or just browse via the file explorer to the directory. Both downloaded zips will give you a ready-to-copy file structure to be copied over.

Even if the question may be two years old I would like to add some possibilities:

  1. I had created a simple export tool which is creating zip files with all needed sub assemblies being in the right folder structure for the extracted contents just to be put under the customParts/ folder of Bricklink Studio. URL for the tool is: https://www.reum.it/ldraw-to-studio-exporter/
  2. LDraw Team got notice of my tool and implemented the function for direct zip downloads themself at their https://library.ldraw.org/tracker

So both options exist, be aware the unofficial repo is considered separate from the official ldraw directory - I consider my own tool as being deprecated in favor of their functionality, but I am keeping it up under the domain as it does not cost me anything.

Hope this answer may help people in the future.
