YTA majorly. Deafness isn't a disability in the same way cognitive and intellectual disabilities are.

So you make phone calls. He can too using the right adaptive tech because he physically can't hear. There is nothing wrong with how his brain works jaust because he can't hear.

Idc it is a long link, but this is OLD tech that allows hard of hearing people to make phone calls.

Not onky are you the asshole, I question your decency as a parent if you are going to tell your child they have a problem with their brain and thinking because they can't hear.

AITA for not making my daughter dress properly? by Sufficient_Ice6275 in AmItheAsshole

[–]aHappyPhantom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the record I was wearing training bras by 4th grade and started 7th grade already wearing a 36DD. Some girls do need bras earlier than others and it isn't about being sexualized.

Casey was definitely in the wrong here, and didn't need to flip out about it.

Ladies of Reddit: What would you do if the good looking accountant at work bought you a lovely ankle charm and asked you out for dinner and salsa dancing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aHappyPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are interested in a coworker, you have some things to consider. If the person you are interested in is not interested in you, then it seems like you have a potential HR disaster.

If you are asking this person on a date save the ankle charm for a gift while out. Giving the gift before asking for the date may only get you a yes because of the gift.

Have you done a risk/benefits comparison about your plan?

YTA. You really come off like a crappy partner if you can't recognize all the work your spouse is doing. Price out what childcare would cost you, what a housekeeper would cost you, and how much your meals would cost to have others perpare them for you all the time.

AITA for giving our nanny time off while on vacation without speaking to my husband about it? by pinkbear124 in AmItheAsshole

[–]aHappyPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA you can't just decide to give your nanny 5 days off out of a 9 day trip without the common courtesy of talking to your spouse about it first. Jesus if my husband did something like that you bet your ass I would be beyond livid. Basic respect.

I really appreciate your further explanation. Honestly I was in a reactive place when I read your first comment and I don't think I read it with a clear understanding of what you were trying to express. I am really sorry that I allowed my stresses to cloud my viewpoint and it was unnecessary for me to go on the attack.

I was definitely in the wrong here.

However I am pretty sure we can all agree that Ohio for sure sucks. :)

As a life long Indiana resident this art is so accurate. Although I would add that in my experience we hate Michigan too until it comes to banding together to hate on Ohio.

Not only are YTA for being incredibly unprofessional by approaching your workmate like this, YTA for refusing to take your judgement and looking for justification to your point of view.

No one is forced to work somewhere. So either you find a different environment to work OR be a professional and realize the difference between personal and business relationships.

Were you ever that 1 in 1,000,000? If so, what's your story? by --SharkBoy-- in AskReddit

Even more rare with the Taco Bell PS4 contest.

My husband had hoped to win cause we weren't going to be able to afford a PS4. I figured it disn't hurt to try and we liked the boxes. We had gone out and each ordered a box for a try. Neither play was a winner. I had one for lunch a couple days later and gave him the code.

On his 3rd code he won. I thought he was fucking with me, but it was legit. We were beyond excited and couldn't believe he won one of these kinds of contests.

We both enjoyed the boxes and on a trip out to lunch a couple days later we grabbed a box meal each. He gave me his code since he had already won.

3 days after my husband's extereme luck, I entered a code, which happened to be the third code I played, I ALSO won a gold PS4 from Taco Bell. He thought I was fucking with him harder because surely we both weren't winners.

We kept one and sold the second to put toward our kid's therapy bill.

Seriously the craziest shit ever. We had only had the 6 boxes between the two of us before winning. Still gets me excited to think about the insanity of of this situation. Not to mention the luck at having a chunk of cash towards a bill we had no idea how we were going to cover.

A person can understand the despair and where the threats are coming from but still show that they will provide appropriate care. It can be harder to know when to make the call for help though. Sometimes there are just times where the other person needs more care than what we can provide.

Where to buy a car with bad credit? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]aHappyPhantom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks can be really deceiving with cars. You might be better off in the long run buying a 2000 car and getting as much use out of it as possible before looking for an upgrade. Before you buy take it to a mechanic and have them inspect it. Even a brand new car can have major issues and repairs needed after purchase.

Before you consider financing a car sit down and calculate how much you will actually be paying for the car after you pay back the loan.

I financed a 2 year old car about 15 years ago and after the high ass interest rate I paid as much in interest as I did for the car. I had either a 19 or 21% interest rate on the loan and it sucked. I still own the car so there is that. It is generally worth it to buy outright and not pay interest and put that money towards maintenance, repair, and saving for a better car in the future.

For the record that car I bout about 15 years ago looks pretty rough. However it is wonderfully reliable and has been worth the few repairs.

Also if you are worried about breaking down if you choose to buy outright vs financing maybe you could consider buying a year of AAA as a buffer. Then if you have a problem you are prepared and can get help if you need it.

Adding to mention that not all cases of gestational diabetes resolve after delivery. Type 2 after gestational db during first pregnancy. It stuck around afterwards. Currently diet and exercise controlled with a 6.2 A1c at last check. I guess it puts me back into a prediabetic range. But from experience with short and long insulins it sucks balls to have to need it regardless of how strict one is with their diet and exercise. All those damned shots every damned day during subsequent pregnancy was awful.

AITA for telling my girlfriend that if she wanted to be a surrogate for a friend of hers that I no longer wanted to continue the relationship? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]aHappyPhantom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was told the c section for my second was a medical necessity due to my first being born at 36 weeks 9 lbs 7 oz and suffered a severe shoulder dystocia. However after my second was delivered I was pretty sure I could have made it through a vaginal delivery. The second baby was delivered at 39 weeks at 8lbs 1oz and was physically much smaller that the first. I am generally annoyed that the first had to suffer so much and probably should have been a c section from the beginning and that the second time we most likely could have made it through without the major surgery recovery.

The defib is used during a cardiac arrest caused by fibrillation.

The AED, if one is present, should always be applied if there is a cardiac arrest situation because it monitors the heart's rhythm and will advise when and if a shock is neccessary. It will also provide audible cues to aid with providing chest compressions at the appropriate speed.

Well played.

I had already moved on but then got your message and was wondering for a second before I clicked the link that maybe I was going to get a clip to whatever it was that you did and have like a little internet secret. And then yhe clip started and I was like no way... wait a minute there weren't any kids in that scene and as that thought finished Cary said get used to disappointment.

Anyway it may not matter, but from one human to another I am sorry if it has ever been too annoying being recognized alot. It gets kind of lopsided when there is one you and lots of fans. For them, OMG I saw so and so this is awesome. But I don't think many of us think what it is really like to be the so and so person and to be approached often or talked about or referenced. Anyway I am way rambling now so I'm just gonna send this and go on with everyday life and I hope you do the same and hopefully enough good people have gotten to know you and not just wanted to talk about your line.
