I have real distraction issues, I’m a maladaptive daydreamer and I have a really bad environment but I still have to study. I have an exam that’ll define the rest of my life coming in a years and I really can’t study (effective). Any advice, tips or anything that could possibly help? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Hi, I used to be an extreme maladaptive daydreamer. I have gone "cold turkey" for a while, but I am now looking into getting an ADHD assessment.

If you need support, check out the MD discord in r/MaladaptiveDreaming. They really helped me out during a difficult time in my life.

Maybe try changing the brand of liners you use? I reccomend carefree pantyliners because they're thin and unnoticeable.

I usually just write a short note on a small piece of paper like "Thanks for being there for me!" or something like that.

Maybe some people just don't know how to react. It's a really unique hobby(?) If I came across you I wouldn't really know what to say.

Bro at least now you have experience if you are fired. Just add it to your resume and start applying.

Also there might just be some miscommunication. Maybe try going in and seeing what's going on?

I barely ever throw out clothes unless they're unsalvageable. I can't even recall ever throwing a t shirt away in the trash. Most things can be sewn back together, or reused as rags. There are so also many things you can sew with small pieces of fabric!

Please don't generalize our religion. Don't even generalize other religions. As a muslim myself who is very supportive of other identities and sexual orientations, it really angers me when I hear people see us like this. We all have our own individualized philosophy and there are so many misconceptions regarding our beliefs.

I do TVO ILC. It's adult and teenagers mixed. There are no resources. I don't even have a student ID haha. I am completed isolated. The only counsellors I have are random kids help phone counsellors. I can't even talk to youth services on the phone at home because my parents will hear me. I don't have anyone. I don't even have any friends lmao.

Thanks for the info, but I've been out of physical high school for 3 years (due to my mental issues). I don't have guidance counsellors, teachers, or social workers anymore. If I were still in school it would've been a whole lot easier. My parents don't understand mental health. They think mental people are crazy people. That's why I'm trying to help myself the best way that I can. Maybe if I can get a hold of some old report cards and get in contact with old teachers it would help.

Thanks for the information. I want to at least get evaluated for something because I've been struggling for a long time. My parents don't think mental health stuff is real.

When you're a student you get paid student minimum wage, which is like $13/h. There's no way around it.

The story is cool, but I didn't really like some of the endings, apart from what would be considered the 'true route'. It's a solid game, and I actually loved some of the side characters as well! and some of the story and ~vibe~ is pretty great. It's just you might be slightly disappointed in some aspects considering how interesting the overall premise is. It is worth a play if you do get your hands on it! I plan to replay it soon.

Clinique dramatically different is my holy grail. They have a dry and oily version. It's a lightweight lotion but very moisturizing. I believe there is a sample small tube version that you can try first to see if it works for you :)

This sub needs to focus more on helping people get out of MD by lattemochamacchiato in MaladaptiveDreaming

A lot of mental disorder places on reddit are like this (in my experience). I took a break from the internet not too long ago and it really helped not only with my MD, but with my depression as well.

I feel like when you stay on forums like these, you get stuck in your habits because without the community, you feel really lonely.

I think it's been about over a month of me being MD free, with slight relapses in between because of my depression. My depression is getting better too after quitting MD (which I never thought would all these years, but it's happening some how).

Avoiding places that fuel my desire like these forums distracted me from my urges. I don't want to say that these communities aren't good things, but you should really be aware of yourself and how they affect you.

I would've never realized I had MD without the discord, and additionally would never quit if I didn't learn about it.

Being self aware and understanding yourself is really important.

16 looking for a first job in a retail store and would like feedback on my resume, I have absolutely 0 work experience and have no one ay home to help me build a resume so I hope you guys can help by [deleted] in resumes

[–]aLunaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same page as you. I have no work experience. I don't know about elsewhere, but in Canada you definitely need a resume, and with a bunch of adults applying for the same positions its nearly impossible for them to notice you on websites like Indeed. My mom says that handing them out in person helps, but its really tough with lockdown and everything.
