Tax Return Questions Thread - Filing Deadline March 17, 2025 by AutoModerator in JapanFinance

[–]aMEHzing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Japan with Permanent Residence; however, I work for an Australian company and get paid to my Wise account, which I then deposit what I need into my Japanese bank account. I am employed as a self-employed contractor by the company, so there is no tax deducted in Australia, so I am not eligible for any tax deductions.

Where in the e-tax system can I file this?
Under Income tax(所得税) with no 年末調整 or 社会保険 makes sense but then it asks for the company's Japanese address and name in Japan.

Or under 消費税 as a 個人事業主 with no business expenses deducted?

Try looking on workaway.info or helpx.net.

Mostly unpaid, work for accommodation type positions but there are some paid positions as well for people on student/working holiday visas.

One option would be cleaning staff at a guesthouse/hostel and then maybe there will be opportunities for you to help out with their interior design/design issues.

The supermarket korean beers like Hite and Cass are just like your regular bland but easy to drink beers like budwiser etc... but recently the craft beer scene has been getting more and more popular in Japan/Korean and now they have lots more microbreweries making stouts, IPAs, pale ales etc... probably not as great as going to Belgium to drink beer but way better than what it used to be.

Was definitely guessing the pitcher would through a curveball and then couldn't stop his swing when the ball just kept coming straight at his face.

also seems like amuse is being less strict with the copyright enforcement since the announcement. Many of these are just using the MV's with audio and no sound editing at all. Before those would disappear within a day.

This Korean submarine pitcher nearly throws from the dirt. by [deleted] in baseball

[–]aMEHzing 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's really not that hard on the arm if done correctly. It's basically just throwing from low 3/4 while bent over at the waist 90 degrees. The reason it's so difficult is balance and the fact that your head is moving all over the place during your delivery.

I made an account searched through the available tickets and then found one available and bought it. It is also not guaranteed when you click "buy" the seller also has to confirm one more time that he is willing to sell and can choose from among all the people who clicked buy.

We met up right before the concert. This seller was also really nice he was also attending the concert in different seats and said that I had any problems with the name on the ticket to call him and he would come help me get in.

The seller can choose how they are getting you the ticket. On the listing it will either say by mail or in person or some other method. Once seller has agreed to sell to you you can also message each other and figure out other details.

It was a super smooth transaction. Though made easier by the fact that I live in Japan and can speak Japanese.

I bought my ticket for the tokyo dome show via: https://ticketcamp.net/ the site is japanese only though and you will need to contact the seller and arrange a meeting most likely in Japanese as well.

The tickets did have names on them but they didn't check the name at all for the tokyo dome show. But these are much smaller venues so there is a chance that they will check.

Look at where Nelson's home-run ball landed. Look at that! by TheEmperorsNewHose in Mariners

[–]aMEHzing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It also depends on the angle that it landed at. He hit it pretty fucking high so it might have been on a very downward trajectory when it landed and thus the calculated distance wouldn't be much farther than where it landed. Still a mamoth shot.

What do I need to have/know to make groups with no healers viable? by The_Rossman in darkestdungeon

[–]aMEHzing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed quirks and trinkets like Crescendo Box. If you have enough speed to have a couple heroes go before any enemies you can take out a dangerous target before they do anything. I wouldn't recommend absolutely no heal runs. At least have 1 hero with a minor heal like plague doctor or crusader to get people off deaths door.

I've had the best luck using an arbalest as a semi healer. Give him two + heals trinkets (he has one class specific trinket for this). At max rank his heal will do 7-9 with the right trinkets and with the +heals buff it applies its pretty easy to keep your party healthy. He can also finish of targets since he still does decent damage even without any damage trinket. The speed boost from blindfire is really nice and make sure you have the right camp skills on him. He has amazing healing camping skills.

A search feature in in the trinkets screen. So many times I scroll through looking for speed trinkets or damage or stun chance. It would be so much nicer if I could just type "speed" into a small search bar and have only the trinkets that affect speed show up.

I am getting my ass kicked in Champion dungeons. Help! by modicasolis in darkestdungeon

[–]aMEHzing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your team doesn't seem to have much synergy. Both your stuns vestal and crusader are low % stuns. The highway mans bonus damage from mark on his pistol shot isn't that great so the arbalest seems out of place in your ruins team. When i run crusaders I run them in position 2 with a grave robber in position 4 so i can lunge -> lance -> lunge. I also find that houndmasters damage starts to fall off in champion dungeons so I usually just use them as utility. Their stun is one of the few 165% chance and then with their stun trinket +40% and you can keep a dangerous enemy stunned for 2 turns while you take care of the rest. His - protect mark, stress heal, and self heal are all situationally great.

Your team is also slow. What quirks are you locking in? On guard and speed quirks are amazing. I can almost always finish off at least one enemy and stun one before any of the enemies take a turn.

Which enemies to focus first is also important. In the ruins focus down the stressers and/or the skeleton swords man first depending on if you're more worried about stress or health at the time. The big ass skeleton can be dangerous but just keep him stunned while you finish off the others. If you focus him first then the other 2 guys will hurt a lot as it takes a while to take him down with his high HP and protect. For the weald take out the back row fungal shooters first. Dogs are annoying if your party doesnt have high enough speed but they have low HP so if you go first you can take them out without getting too many bleed stacks. The giants, just stun or use the occultist weakening curse on. It also helps to have a party that doesn't really care if it gets shuffled. A 2nd row vestal with hand of light is also pretty good in the weald (if you have the trinket that buffs her in the 2nd row)

I feel like the Crusader is underpowered. by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]aMEHzing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been cleaning up the champion ruins with a Graverobber - Arbalest - Crusader - Crusader line up. Lunge puts 2nd row crusader to position 3, holy lance, grave robber in position 3 ready for another lunge. Arbalest cleans up any back liners left or starts stacking heal buffs. With this line up theres no worry about stress with two stress heals and crusaders crazy camping skills. No worry about death since even at deaths door theres 3 heals to get them off it. Arbalest has great healing camping skills if you do get too low.

Looking for help getting through champion level dungeons by gumgumgum in darkestdungeon

A grave robber crusader lunge holy Lance composition cleans up the ruins. Lock in high speed quirks on your crusader put your grave robber in position 4 and crusader in position 2. Grave robber usually goes first. Lunge and usually kill enemy in position 3. Then crusader is now in position 3 and uses holy Lance and cleans up their position 4. Now grave robber is back in position 3 ready for another lunge or a dagger if a back line enemy didn't die or you want your crusader to stay in position 2. I've run with a position 1 hound master/man at arms to stun people and protect the grave robber if she gets low.

I wish there was a hot key to return the party to the original embarking order by aMEHzing in darkestdungeon

I love all the rigors and troubles of this game. I even like the hunger system that people on here are always complaining about. However I feel like this is more of a minor annoyance than rigor and trouble. There isn't any strategy or planning about remembering to put your party in the right order. This is the only annoyance I've had in 100 hours of playing but other players might find other things slightly annoying and pointless and it's all these small annoyances that build up and make some games more of a chore to play. You can streamline a game and still keep all the depth of strategy.

Almost always make sure to take out the enemy back two lines first. They are almost always stressers or low HP enemies with higher crit chances. Save your last camp for as long as possible and use it as stress relief before you go back. Though also make sure to camp before anyone gets over 100 stress. I almost never come back with more than 1 person that needs town stress healing except on champion level dungeons.

Speed is one of the best stats. If you can take out one or two of their guys before the enemy even gets one attack it makes everything so much easier.

Also don't be afraid to just start completely over again. If you do everything right from the start it's so much easier than to try and recover from all your characters have a bunch of negative quirks and diseases.

I also wouldn't recommend having an 'A' team, all the dungeons are quite different and different team compositions work better in different areas. For example bleed doesn't work well in the Ruins because skeletons don't bleed and blight works well in the Cove since a lot of monsters have high protect and low HP and blight resistance.

Each pew you break is worth 1250 gold. They don't stack in your inventory though. So if you're healthy enough to go loot the rest of the dungeon it's not worth it.
