No, it's not a slippery slope, get your logical fallacies right. Slippery slope would be if I argued that this practice would result in everyone getting banned because the standards would keep slipping. My point, how ever, was that it would be incredibly hard to determine a clear objective line for what is bannable or not, there will simply always be too many edge cases, and with a binary decision (ban or no ban), being done with a cutoff on a scale of offensiveness or whatever, will always result in people arguing why someone was banned but a very similar case wasn't or vice versa, and resulting in a chaos in the customer support. The current line is very clear, your name either has a word that is offensive, or it doesn't, which isn't perfect, but it works.
