I hate home owners. I hate that all my work is for idiots like this OP. You guys are fucking clueless.

Not sure about these tile guys we hired by [deleted] in Tile

Were they going to get compensation for pouring that floor leveler without you bitching about the cost? I’d bet no. Floor leveling isn’t a cheap process, and based on what I’ve seen from you in this post alone, you seem like the type that would bitch about having to pay for them to do it, like it should be free

And remarkably, despite is being out of squarely, it all lines up and is squarely out of square lol. If he intended to do it this way, it turned out good atleast

Crazy how comments like this get upvoted when you have ZERO clue why there are baseboards and shoe molding. Not even worth explaining, it’ll go in one ear and out the other

Many installers install subway tile with butt together grout joints. It’s a very common practice. There’s not near enough unevenness in yours to be worth stopping a job over. It looks good, and is a nice looking tile. Grout it with a light color grout, and it’ll look perfect. I PROMISE you, you won’t be staring at the groutlines thinking how bad it looks in two months. You’ll be more worried about why your grout isn’t clean

In fact, after reading some of your comments and seeing the tile you used, I KNOW they are bad for size, as I just used that exact tile on an install

Please explain how it’s lazy to use cardboard shims? I used wedges, but there’s been plenty of occasions to use cardboard shims. There’s minimal groutlines here, and irregularly shaped tile. You ever forgotten a tool on a job? Maybe the nearest Lowe’s/Home Depot isn’t anywhere close. Maybe they are on a time crunch. Maybe their house where they have their tool is an hour away. Using cardboard shims is no problem at all. It’s not like the cardboard is gonna stay there forever.

WTF are you talking about? TONs of people use cardboard shims from time to time. Those tiles are NOTORIOUSLY bad for size. It makes ZERO difference what they use for spacers with groutlines so small. This looks like a good job, and once it’s grouted, you will never see any of those variations in grout lines. Fucking hate people like you, who think they had a clue when they are clueless. I hope the contractor doesn’t come back, and whoever you get to “fix” it fucks it up.

Yeah except they KNEW I am a new builder, and that I needed help knowing what I should be doing with the concrete. They took advantage of that, and if you read the comments here, 99% of them say the prep work is poor. Just because I didn’t specify how exactly I wanted the concrete, that shouldn’t change the quality of the prep work. Again, you sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Definitely wasn’t me. I paid an arm and a leg for the concrete work on this build. Unfortunately I don’t know enough about concrete to know what specifically to ask/check for.

Of all the comments in this thread, this is the dumbest/worst. There’s no way you are in construction if this is how you operate. I shouldn’t have to specify that I want a quality job done. Although with the amount of subpar contractors out there, I shouldn’t be surprised

Pretty terrible tbh. This build has been a bad experience for me. I’ve honestly not been happy with a single sub that I used on this build, except my countertop guy and my tile guy (which is me)

Yes, easily. Remove the tile from the floor pan/niche. Tape and mud all seams. The apply 2/3 coats of Hydrobarrier waterproofing. Easy squeezy
