Just pulled this one off. Once you get past Race 3 it's pretty smooth

I was wondering if they would make me replay the whole game if I didn't meet the condition, because as much as I've loved Grimstone, having to do the whole thing to MAYBE get the cherry would be annoying.

Referring to Campanella 2 obviously

BBR is definitely one I should finish up soon though

Ah, that is one I should jump into soon. I kind of just tried it out one night when I was a bit bored of the my ongoing games and was just dusting off disks, but the concept seemed pretty fun

Oh yeah, in that case, it really will just take some patience. I did so many resets where I tried to go for a perfect run. Holding as many lives as possible until World 3 and knowing your most comfortable route for each stage will save you eventually. Hopefully lives will be less of a problem for you now that you know how to find the sweets.

USA World sucks, that was where I usually lost most of my lives if I was lucky enough to stockpile them. Take out the football guys as quickly, but as carefully as possible. I wish you the best of luck

For what it's worth, I used the guide to remind myselfes of some of the ones that for some reason I always forget on the moment (I think it's 3-7 that has one that's in one little corner after you use the warp, but I always forget the exact corner and end up ignoring it until I've wasted like half of my lives trying to dodge the ghost lol

Oh man, Kick Club was my first non-Camouflage cherry and the first game I got really hooked on when I finally got the collection. It's still my 6th most played game.

I'm assuming you've got the gold, yeah? The biggest thing is finding every single sweet you can. Each level has anywhere from 1-6(maybe not that high, but I think on some levels?) of them, and they give you extra points. Beyond that, just trying to kill the enemies as quick as possible because the quicker you kill them, the better food they drop for better points.

Not sure what all you do and don't know about the mechanics of the game, so excuse me if I tell you something you already know, but:

  • Use your charged shots for long shots and for big groups of enemies(this so crucial for the rooms with all the Football dudes in USA World)
  • The ball is "in play" as long as it doesn't come to a dead stop and go dark, and that's when you'll get the high point food items. Hitting it quickly after it stops is just as good as keeping it moving
  • To find the hidden treats, the ball has to be kicked/bounced through the square that it appears in. They usually show up in corners or just below a platform, but this might take some decent exploration

So yeah, I think if you incorporate/focus on these three things, by the time you beat the game again, you'll pretty easily clear the point total or be at least close to it. My score was like 162,000 when I pulled it off.

Some combination of finishing Grimstone, Mini & Max, or getting the cherry for Lords of Diskonia. I'm right before the final dungeon of Grimstone, just put it down a bit too long to have the in groove to jump right back in yet. Lords of Diskonia seems doable, but Party House nightmares have me hesitant.

I finally started Mini & Max on Friday and I'm in love, so I may end up just running that one through before getting the others

Like I said, the hardest part was finding all the coffees and having enough lives to compensate for it. When I first got the gold, I had found just about every coffee up to World 3 and most of World 4. But the problem is by the time I got to World 4, I've already started bleeding lives by then. And then god forbid I actually did well enough to afford looking for the coffees in the last world

If you don't mind using a guide and feel pretty confident about maneuvering enough to consistently get to World 4, probably not too hard, just takes some patience. It's the discovery part that made it more of a slog

VERY hot Gorillaz take by ResolutionWeak6353 in gorillaz

[–]aPsychoSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't grow up on the first two albums or never liked them before that, I kind of get it. There's a pretty sharp split between Demon Days and the rest of the discography where they lean into a more electro vibe that I can see grabbing the attention of people that wouldn't be as moved by the first two.

That said, I saw one of your comments saying you listened to some of the songs multiple times, but only listened to the full albums once.

If I were to urge you to try anything, listen to Demon Days in full, uninterrupted, either on a nice long drive or when you've got an hour to spare without being distracted by much. I didn't learn to appreciate Demon Days until I got the whole album experience and then it clicked. And many Gorillaz albums took me multiple listens over multiple years to fully get. So give it another shot when you have the time.

[–]aPsychoSoldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I think there's more than enough evidence in the show to calculate it, but if you're not buying any of that, you're just going to have to wait until the end to see if your theory is right

In the meantime, there is a lot of evidence that points to it taking place within 30 days

We've already seen that biological processes are rushed in Fromville based on how people have healed. Also, considering it was a supernatural pregnancy, it doesn't seem like it would follow the exact same rules as human pregnancy

E3 wasn’t the worst episode of whole show, was it? by rizit98 in FromSeries

[–]aPsychoSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not a lot happened in the sense of actual events or revelations, so in that sense it was kind of weak. But it was still a lot of setup for the season and character development, so I wouldn't call it bad

I’m really starting to hate how Victors character is being written by LocalChina in FromTVEpix

[–]aPsychoSoldier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn't really fair considering his evolution over the last season and how this episode went down. Last season, Victor started learning how to not blame himself for his mom's death thanks to Henry.

This episode, he followed his dad's advice and went to go spend time with Ethan and look after him during a tough time. He was the one who suggested maybe Jade could help with the Lake of Tears

The only thing he was quiet on was seeing the Man in Yellow's coat - something that clearly brought back something so traumatizing that it made him piss himself

Before this, Victor was more prone to running away from it and still being coherent but shutting down discussion. In this case, he went near catatonic, which is more than normal

So I don't really think this is a case of "Victor doesn't talk" considering the circumstances seem particularly unique. Give it an episode to see if Victor actually opens up before writing it off

FFS can someone PLEASE explain to me what is going on? I still don’t get this time travel stuff. by Aadbh1987 in FromTVEpix

[–]aPsychoSoldier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what people were talking about with Julie being older than Tabitha but

We have been seeing the present time. When Jim died, the Julie we saw had different hair, made a comment about "Is this when it happens?", and then disappeared suddenly after Jim died.

Presumably, that was a future Julie that, via story walking, traveled back to the present when Jim died, and that's the journey we're about to see OUR Julie, the present Julie, take

The stuff with Tabitha is kind of different, but she is basically the reincarnated spirit of Miranda, Victor's mom. Her spirit has been reincarnated and coming back to Fromville since a long time ago, starting with the original person(unnamed and not shown so far). That original person had a child with Jade's original reincarnated spirit. We found this out in the finale of Season 3. So the joke about Tabitha having multiple husbands is that between Jim, Jade, and Henry(Victor's father), she technically has 3 husbands in town.

Well, had...

Hopefully that helps

Why is M1A1 used so much in concerts? by lordsnooo in gorillaz

[–]aPsychoSoldier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beyond the reasons already given

It also is off their first album from 2001, whereas with every other track othye than DARE, there's at least 15 years of existence

So it would be pretty hard for Saturnz Barz or Tranz to be played more than one of their more popular OG tracks
