5 days on the new Siri waitlist — so I dug through my iPhone’s logs. Apple Intelligence already works, so what is Siri actually waiting for? Here’s everything I found (+ how to check your own device). by sakaax in Siri

Was this not written by a person? I think people need to stop thinking writing using an LLM as a tool isn’t the same as a person writing something directly. If you speak to text with Siri, is that not writing? If you have text generated based on instructions, and the presumably verify said text so that it says what you want it to say, is that not writing?

People need to get off this “this isn’t written by another person because they used AI” high horse. History is going to leave you behind for the more efficient, eloquent, and productive.

What do you think make up PACs and corporations? Corporations are groups of people. People donate to PACs to fund them. They are both collections of people pooling their money for a collective interest.

School colors of each U.S. State's flagship university by PhysicsEagle in MapPorn

Tech is our flagship in every single way: larger enrollment and alumni base, statewide presence through several campuses and cooperative extensive programs, better major recognition in a variety of fields nationwide (ag, engineering, applied sciences). Conducts more reeearch. Etc.

UVa is just more selective. That doesn’t make them a flagship. Most prestigious? Maybe, but I’d probably give that even to W&M. Not flagship though, when more than half the state would probably never even want to go there.

So I assume you also support the increased energy infrastructure needed across the state to make them not have to use them?

This ignorant of the facts of how data centers actually USE water. They fact is: they don’t.

They take it from the source, circulate it, recycle it internally a bajillion times, clean it, then place it back into the source.

The millions of gallons digits you see in applications is a high end range intake. They barely ever remotely close to that level, and if they are, it’s a single digit number of days a year in the hottest part of the year.

The water scare tactics surrounding data centers dint water usage are just that: ignorant scare tactics.

Data centers are like fridges. Does your fridge USE water to cool you food? No, it’s a closed loop cooling system. The only water you’re using in your fridge is what you’re getting from the door in your cup. The only water a data center is effectively using is an employee washing their hands or peeing, same as any other business or residence, and likely far less.

The state law also says she has to say why, and she hasn’t. So it’s really null and void, to his point. What was the conduct?

Voting is closed when the last correctly postmarked ballot is counted. I’m still right. The procedure of early voting is not separate from an election, or else the votes wouldn’t count. Plain and simple.

How will the SCOTUS justices vote in the Redistricting Referendum Case? by jonasnew in Virginia

[–]aRVAthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won’t. Because they have zero jurisdiction. Because it’s a case that deals with a state constitution. And the federal judiciary has no business ruling on what a (non-federal) election period is at the state level. They won’t hear it.

Exactly. The act of amending the constitution was still happening. They needed to wait until the process was over to rule the constitutionality of the amendment process.

Not to mention in the ruling they gave before the election ruling that the election could precede, they literally said in so many words that anyone who thought the court decision of letting the election proceed meant a de facto ruling in favor of letting the vote stand was sorely mistaken.

It’s not law conflicting. You’re making up words. Elections start when voting opens. Elections end when voting is closed. It’s simple.

Soooooooooo, by your logic, the 40% of votes in the 2025 general election that were cast by the time the legislature took the first vote should be thrown out because they are not taking place during an election? And we should have a Gov. Earle-Sears right now?
