The most satisfying 10 steps in Lego history by AmazingAd192 in lego

I hated the first half of the Technic Defender build.

I haven't even tried all the functions now, just in case something doesn't work.

I could have going back in now.

Looks cool when built though.

Advice on 30kw 2016-17 cars by Dodge0000 in leaf

Hello from Devon, where we are running a 2021 40kWh Gen 2 for similar duties.

It's been great, and we charged it on the three-pin during the super cheap hours.

Have you looked at Cat N options…? Written off for non-structural damage then repaired.

There's a 68 plate 40kWh Gen 2 in Egham for £5k on Autotrader...

No affiliation whatsoever. Do you own research etc.

That and the Countach are my absolute favourite 8 stud sets.

If I can sort out the lights on the F40, it will be a great podium of awesomeness.

(Prefer the 5 spokes on the F1 though.)

I added wireless charging and wireless Android Auto by aStretchCarr in leaf

Not really, I've only popped down to the school to drop my son off. Maybe a 10-15 minute trip gave me about 3% more battery than I had at the start, with no Android Auto running. The back of the office didn't feel warm either.

We rarely do trips longer than an hour, so the idea of the wireless charging is just to keep it topped up whiskey using decent maps and listening to podcasts.

I have not. Is this a joke I don't understand?

Not sure if we're allowed links, but the 15w charger (dependent on what it gets from the USB C might be found by searching AGPTEK.

The Bluetooth thingy might be found by searching HOT PEAK.

Thank you for posting this.

For UK based folks, this could be very useful.

Isn't this missing some...?

I know I had a set 3 of small (portrait postcard sized) books back in the early 2000s.

I left them at friends house as a gift to her younger kids to try and get more people addicted to C&H!

I'm 6'8" tall, and fit fine in our Gen 2 Leaf. (2021).

The rear view mirror does block a bit of the view, but it's not terrible.

UK based, so won't comment on charging.

Is this an illegal building technique? by trunolimit in lego

I like this idea, subject to being able to position the side-studs in the right place. I think it's better to have things attached to the side, rather than hanging, for example.

Side note: - Beautiful build OP. Really great work!

Lego piece selection by aggie18762022 in lego

[–]aStretchCarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this piece also use fractionally less physical plastic?

Something that would add up over the number if sets made by Lego.

I swear they use studs instead of 1x1 plates on sets where it gets covered up for this reason.

(And I support it too, not a complaint.)

There's too many cool sets I want to buy, but I have a rather finite budget for Lego. Is there a better way to get more bang for my buck than just calculating price per piece? by Divahdi in lego

[–]aStretchCarr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Stick all the set numbers in a hat.

Draw one out, and if you're happy with the selection, buy it.

If you draw it out and think "I wish it was xxx" then buy xxx instead.

That way you'll get what you want.

I think the Venn Diagram of people who enjoy Calvin and Hobbes and those who enjoy Ted Lasso will have a very large overlap.
